In this case, since I have many other watches, I would choose the Chopard since it is so unique and considered a work of art πŸ˜‰ Just reread your description, so the Chopard was done totally on Urushi? If so, that is even more impressive for me. I also collect Japanese fountain pens from Namiki and Danitrio, and Sailor in Maki-E, Chinkin, and Urushi so I absolutely appreciate the handwork and technique πŸ‘πŸ‘

The work involved from the masters is just mind-blowing. I have a rather large collection of Japanese fountain pens in Urushi and Maki-E and can tell you some of them are in Patek watch level prices. The Maki-E models took between 4 - 8 months to produce ...

Yes Gordon, the mosaic is done in abalone (MOP) by the master who did this Danitrio Genkai and yes it is the cap of the pen...
