As far as the gap, I think I actually prefer the gap. Better view of the lugs. Also unless the strap is totally flush against the case there will be a slight, unsightly gap - and is consistent with the other 5131s.

Something matte, or something textured. All that said, it’s hard to beat the bracelet on this one.

It seems this watch can look good with any colored crocodile strap that’s been thrown at it, never would have guessed. I would also try with a light gray strap for winter time.
