"shininess" is created by how the dial was made. Out of the several 5131Gs that I have handled, this is the only one with the "chrome" effect.

I prefer the non-chrome version. The chrome takes away the allure of the cloisonné center because it’s shines too much under some lighting conditions

Are you sure this isn’t simply lighting causing the difference you are calling the chrome effect? Strong light at a slight angle can cause all sorts of effects. For sure there are multiple colourways as I have often seen with the 5131R’s. ...
