Thanks FX for your usually great review and beautiful pictures! I can only agree with many of your assessments, first and foremost the main goals with which Patek has created the 6007A...

Namely, offering another substantial contribution to the fresh, new look that the Calatrava line is developing, in a tradition started very successfully last year with the 5212A and the discontinuation of several older references. Same size, same metal, and a similar level of simplicity for the first two offers, in my opinion make for a cautious but very clever start in the right direction. "Rejuvenating" the line, as you say, is also a perfect term to describe this slow but confident process taking place in one of the most iconic corners of the Patek collection.
Let me just add here that I hope we can see a 6007 in the regular catalog in the near future ;-)
I can only be happy that such a simple piece has already received an overwhelming amount of attention... While it's entirely expected that the 6007A will be hardly accessible to first-time customers, what I'm hoping for is it can continue to inspire new generations of collectors to approach this incredible brand, way beyond its Nautilus or Aquanaut lines. I'm of course referring to everyone interested in the best of horology, but in particular to the young and successful looking to reward themselves for their first big successes at work or in life. A modern and dynamic round watch is now becoming a very viable alternative to the classical Patek sports models ;-)
And yes, I'm not a big fan of that date window either -- in my opinion, a big number "3" would have fit in beautifully on the 6007A dial
Thanks again! Cheers.
