Got a new Strap for my PP - should i keep it?
I just got this very nice strap. On top you see the oem Patek strap (worn 4 years) and below you see an alligator strap with a stamp from a well known german retailer made by my favorite strap maker. It costs almost one ninth (!) of the oem strap which is amazing given the obvious quality. However, the color has to fit the watch and now i am thinking about sending the watch eeeh i mean strap back.
What should i do?

All subjective personal opinion...
but I prefer the OEM. I don't prefer small scales or glossy straps. I like the more subtle large scale matte straps, which IMO lets the watch head itself feature most prominently.

I prefer matte, and I prefer large scales, and I think the chocolate color is a better fit to the watch than the burgundy. Most probably more versatile also, if you‘re like me and wear brown shoes and belts more often than burgundy. Cheers, Daniel
I'm also for the Patek strap between the two, though you may want to consider some more lively options (all available at Patek ADs) like we've seen in other threads?
Also keep in mind that a good quality alligator strap for 1/9 of a Patek price (hence less than $40?) may be very hard to find..;-)
Your are right. But in this case, my new strap would be from the same manufacture as the PP straps - since its a creation for my ad, they would give it as a bonus. Thats the reason it costs almost nothing.
However, that ad already gifted me an PP oem strap that is just what are talking about: more lively, but with some Patek class. Thanks for your opinion!
I associate small scale or baby croco with watches from the 50/60ies
There are watches for such straps nur it is not for yours. The one at the top is nicer fitting.
Thats funny, because the 5227 IS kind of a watch from the 50ies
And i wanted to create that look. Its a mystery why it does not work at all. Thanks for your opinion!
