Good point....Patek's production has historically been so deep and diverse that's legitimate to argue that any of Patek's areas of excellence are critical to its DNA (Rare Handcrafts, minute repeaters and other grand complications, WTs, etc. etc.)...
But it's a fact that any collector who's able to appreciate a Worldtimer (among other examples) is, as a consequence, going to capture part of the real essence of the Brand! I think it's wonderful that, at the same time that the sports models command insane premia, references such as the 5130 or 5110 are still on sale as a bargain with the grey dealers....this is potentially giving a chance to (almost) everyone to approach this unique "Independent world" rich of history and significance!

+1, really underrated, which might be good for those collectors who still want to strike a *fantastic* deal on the secondary market... You can probably grab the entire 5130 line in exchange for a 5711/1A (the first two of the four dials, at least! ;-))
Speaking rigorously of MSRP, my favorite is of course the 5131 (P)....but I'm among those who tend to favor most 5130s over the corresponding 5110s! ;-) Cheers. ...
I know (and appreciate) your love for the 5110, but the 5130P is generally my favorite modern WT (of the non-enamel production)…larger size and a tad more informal/versatile…I would say my personal ranking is quite solidly 5130 \gg 5110 \gg 5230👍
Of course, all stunning propositions in an area of excellence for Patek, but if one has to be picky…😉🥂

Before I acquired the Jedah one, I did not realize the dials’ color is indeed different. The Jeddah is deep violet blue, while the normal Dubai version is a light blue. Both stunning in my eyes. Cheers my friend

Each series has its own uniqueness and lineage to vintage WTs. A Patek collection IMO needs to have a WT to act as a pillar (or one of the pillars). One of our favorites below. ...
