Here’s some watch porn. This imo is one of the most perfect watch. Ticks all my boxes.

 - Platinum
 - Manual Winding Chronograph
-Perpetual Calendar

Having said that, this is how 41mm looks on a 16cm wrist. Hope it helps anyone who has small wrist to get some perspective of a 41mm watch.

Disclaimer: The 5271p is not mine.

Disappointed with 5205g.. Trade for 5905p ?

 By: SharpPencil : February 9th, 2021-17:05
Hi guys, The 5205g has been my dream watch ever since it was launched. However, I just gotten my 5205g yesterday and I must say that I am a little disappointed as I saw that in most pictures, the dial looks like a really nice gradient blue. However, regar...

Thanks for the nice pics SharpPencil, and welcome to the Patek forum! It's a personal decision, so even if I do find the 5205 (dial included) extremely classy, if you don't like it enough I agree the right call is to replace it with another reference..

As far as the 5164 goes, because of both its beauty and versatility (without going into market considerations), personally I would think *a lot* before moving it, also considering that, from what I understand, you recently sold your 5711.... If you are fu...

Yes yes.. the 5711g is gone. So far no regrets as I am absolutely happy with the 5164a. That’s why I’m stuck in a dilemma whether to trade it in for a 5905p. My love for the 5905p temptation started mainly due to the datograph which made me appreciate a c...

I would rather not trade these two for 5905P. I once owned 5170P. I think 5170P has the same dial colour as 5205G. It is one of the watch I regret letting it go. By the way, I just got 5164A, so imo I will keep these two in the collection for at least a y...

I have spent time...

...with both models in person. The 5205’s dial is a darker gradient vs the 5905P which is a lighter shade blue and is a sunburst (it doesn’t fade to a darker color). I find the 5205’s dial to be stunning but it sounds like you may like prefer the 5905 dia...

Good to hear from someone who experienced both the 5905 and 5205 blue dial in person. Yes now it sounds like I’ll prefer the 5905 dial. But guess I really have to head down to take a look at the size.

Had same thoughts

I have the same watch 5205g and had the exact same thoughts on trading it for the 5905p. The blue on the 5905p is very blue and I agree that the 5205g is mostly black and only in certain light is blue. I changed the black strap for a blue strap and it hel...

Give the 5205G a fair chance.

 By: George Gently : February 9th, 2021-21:13
You’ve only had it one day on your wrist. As for trading it for a 5905P, I’d think twice. The 5205 with it’s 40 mm already looks rather large on your wrist. Take whichever one touches your hart... Regards, George

If only

If only the 5905p was 39mm or 40mm 😌

I would never do that

5905p is a very nice piece, but I would never exchange a 5164 (the nicest Aquanaut by far imho) and a 5205 for it. Even less so if size is a concern to you. I am so sorry you felt disappointed with the 5205g - all I can say is that it looks marvelous to m...

I like it

I like it cause it’s a very romantic looking watch I guess due to the moon phase. But at the same time, I just wished the blue was more obvious. 🥲

feel. For me, 5164 and 5205G cover a lot of bases. So depending whether you really need to have a chrono with annual calendar function to replace these two great pieces. Good luck and let us know your decision !

That is a pretty amazing piece! Assuming one likes diamonds, the 5271P brings the 5270P to a new level, also in terms of exclusivity (though I probably like the salmon dial of the 5270P better)... I believe the delta in the current MSRP is about 40%.

Congrats to your friend who owns this beauty, it's just perfect on his wrist! And I agree, the P makes a watch even more special ;-) Cheers.

5905p vs 5960 blue dial ? I’m a little confused with all the versions of the 5960. But yeah the one with the blue dial.

They are very different beasts, but in my view the 5960 might be more versatile...elegant and at the same time much more on the sporty side.

 By: FabR : February 10th, 2021-07:19
There have been indeed many iterations of the 5960, and the blue dial that you can find in the current catalog is a G...so for a blue P you would have to resort to the secondary market (still pretty good for this reference however! ;-) Cheers.

Versatility

 By: SharpPencil : February 10th, 2021-11:14
Seems like the 5960 might suit me more due to the size as compared to the 5905. Will try to look around for the blue P in the used market. Being sporty and versatile, seems like I can consider trading both 5164a and 5205g and keep some extra cash if I go ...

If you tend to dress casual, a 5960 would definitely seem very appropriate (though I don't mind the more elegant/classical 5905 either, which is still a chrono).

 By: FabR : February 10th, 2021-12:47
In any case, my best advice is to try them on before pulling the trigger, if you get a chance... This way you'll be sure to avoid surprises like for the 5205, and can see which watch clicks best once on your wrist ;-) Cheers.

... i personally agree that the 24/hour indocation is somewhat outdated now and does not enhance the joy with this watch. I only had the R for some time. As long as you like the size, i would not trade up just because of the dial. Wait for summer to arriv...

I would never trade up to a 5905, especially considering its size and your wrist circumference. 5205 for my eyes is the much better watch for your wrist.
