Congratulations ! The 5065 is a true classic.
I fully agree on all counts, much prefer the quirkiness and small imperfections of the 5065a over the "smooth perfection" of the 5167 / 5165.
When I collected my 5065 from the Patek NL service center earlier this year in person, the watchmaker erroneously handed me a 5165 instead of my trusty 5065. When he put it on my wrist, something immediately felt off. Rubber strap fit was better but the dial had nowhere near the charm of the grenade dial. Told him that's not my watch and he got me the correct one (we both found it pretty funny
