the article omits some other information that i received from john reardon international head of watches at christies, in that despite the 7,000 production numbers there are some variants/ color metals that are indeed quite rare. the rose gold for example only exists in 1,500 examples. within that subset, it can further be boken down to early series vs late series and different dial variants etc...... similarly the yellow gold exists in 3,500 examples but there are rarer subsets / variations of these dials as well. these are very small numbers compared with anything vintage rolex.......
