I think the experience is very new to Patek buyers pre explosive price action.

But for vintage collectors of Rolex the price action represents supply and demand. The least scarce the desirable models are the more pressure on price. But the price action resides in the most desirable models rather than the more complicated model which is good news for the guy trading up in complication who has a bird in tye hand. Love the 5712.

Can someone please tell me when the Nautilus interest will top out?

Super lovely watch! Always appropriate, always clean, sporty and elegant. Outrageously comfortable, light and visually substantial. There's nothing wrong with the design and execution of this watch. The question I have is when will the widespread and very...

Difficult question😊 Most probably not so soon 👍

Do you ever think about trading 'up' while the interest is so high in your 5712/1A-001? Like I mentioned in another post, the straight trade is somewhere between a 5270G (1st series) and 5270R (2nd series 'chin' model) which is a significant jump in compl...

Yes i think about that from time to time and it actually makes a lot of sense.

Complications its what Patek is about and not really steel sports watches. So, yes, i agree with you. If the prices continue to go up like this and this piece gets discontinued i think you can add other complications to your "trading up" idea 😊

Nice looking dogs.

They may prefer ALS, lol.

They should fancy Lange but they've never seen one!

Bought Ladies and Gents Two tone Nautilus in 1986. Now I can't afford them and I think they are timeless

MikiJ - your 1986 acquisitions must be very nice!

enjoy them in the best of health! Best, Robert

Yes they were...

Gone but not forgotten.

I think the experience is very new to Patek buyers pre explosive price action.

I still have the original invoice for the Ladies and Gents Nautilus I bought in '86...Get Ready for this - $10,700.00 in Dead Presidents

So true about the desirable models! Those currently owning/holding the 5712/1A-001 (for example) are in a power position riding a very fast elevator up through the corporate suites!

 By: Robert65 : October 14th, 2021-12:23
For those lucky ones riding the super fast elevator - they can jump off at a higher floor (for a 5270 for example). But once they jump off the elevator - they better like which floor they choose because they are going to reside on that floor for the long ...

Bill - sure wish I could do a straight trade for a 5270!

But I'm too scared to wade into that world of high-end swapping. I'm in a rural environment with no GTGs. Oh well, we will see. Regards, Robert

Like Miki I purchased my 1st Nautilus early, it was a 3710/1A in 2000. Back then, no one wanted a Nautilus and I still remember the conversations I had with Patek loyalists who looked down on the Nautlius line...

my how times have changed 🤦‍♂️🙉🙈🙊 As for the 5712/1A and it's relative values compared to other pieces from Patek, pick your poison. None of us know what the future will bring but one I thing I do know from owning most all the Nautilus models in SS, I wou...

Many thanks holdemchamp - great advice

My only other piece is a Rolex 116520 Black dial Daytona. Best, Robert

My guess is …

…it will slow down or at least normalize once the excessive monetary supply of the central banks stops. Not before that. Too much money is in the hands of too many people who don’t know what do to with all the cash.

IMO no need to think about this issue. Simply
