Baselworld postponed to January 2021





For health safety reasons and in accordance with the precautionary principle issued today by the Swiss authorities, Baselworld announced that it has taken the decision to postpone the show.

For health safety reasons and in accordance with the precautionary principle following the bans of large-scale public and private events issued today by the Swiss federal and cantonal authorities, Baselworld announces that it has taken the decision to postpone the show to Thursday 28th January 2021 to Tuesday 2nd February 2021 (Press Day on Wednesday 27th January), due to concerns related to Covid-19.

So, Baselworld 2020 is canceled and Baselworld 2021 moves back a few months or do we have 2 Baselworlds in 2021 - 1 in January and 1 in April? Maybe a bit of a communication strategy mess up? W&W was pretty straightforward. It is cancelled for 2020, so se... 

I think it’s hard to tell what happens next year in any case...The first consequence is that all brands now need to find alternative venues to present their 2020 collection.

does that mean that no novelties will be released until next year? PP will simply hold the planned releases for 10 months? sounds inconceivable somehow
