Mar 19, 2019,12:01 PM

Finally! Here is the new Enamel Patek Philippe 5231J.

38, 5 mm big, 10, 23 mm high. Cal 240 HU with a power reserve of 48 hours.

A superb enamel dial. I just hope that we'll have some white metal versions, later...

Best,

Nicolas

Superb!

for this watch I could be tempted by the yellow gold. Any announcement reg the price? Thank you, Nico. Best Christian

Thank you, my friend. [nt]

Only one 😏 [nt]

I’m feeling fairly certain - but can’t know, of course

 By: ChristianDK : March 19th, 2019-13:19
But, for the 5131, I always favored the yellow gold. It plays well, with the enamel, and I is not an understated watch - so why not go for it 😉

Same here.

Generally, I’m not into YG at all but it goes extremely well with a colorful enamel dial. The case of the 5230/5231 is great although I would prefer it at 39,5 mm.

5231J-001 and 5726/1A-014 already ordered yesterday.

Can’t wait for the Rolex novelties tomorrow.

ROFL!!! [nt]

 By: amanico : March 19th, 2019-15:15

Yes, I really like that case as well

 By: ChristianDK : March 19th, 2019-15:16
I can’t wait to see how it goes together with the enamel, but I suspect it will be good

😳 LOL 😉

IF.... ;-) i missed the boat on the 5131. So I have been waiting for this one since I like the 5230. ....And...I like it, so far. But you know, pictures is one thing. To try, is an other ;-) Are you on the train?

It’s a very nice piece

 By: ChristianDK : March 19th, 2019-15:12
And world time is your thing - soooo...

Clearly! [nt]

Beautiful!

Does it have exactly the same dial of 5131? I wonder why they decided to use the 5130 hands instead of the 5230 hands...

Best in show for Patek!

The subtle design change of the lugs (which seems to be a nod to the 2523), the removal of the text at six and twelve, and the removal of the crown guards seem like such small differences but the total package feels so much nicer than the 5131. This watch...

They saved some gold -bit greedy isn t it?😂 [nt]

And found some old hands in the cupboard

From the 5130 series with a couple of dials

I too am partial to the G

 By: sham1 : March 19th, 2019-12:31
simply because the maps would be more relevant to me. The P though might be fascinating!

Well, at least I have two years to save up for one! :-)

 By: sham1 : March 19th, 2019-12:35
Assuming of course Patek are kind enough to allocate me one!

;) [nt]

That is a beautiful piece. Interesting that they used a combination of the current WT handset and the prior WT handset.

I do wish Patek would recess the pusher more as it is visually obtrusive. Perhaps not possible with Patek's base movement, but Lange's big date corrector pusher is perfect...present and visible, but not obtrusive. Patek's pusher attenuates some of the bea...

Everything about this piece feels vintage to me.

And I love it! The yellow gold case is a perfect match to the overall design language of this watch, and this is coming from someone that doesn’t own a single yellow gold piece. I am very much hoping for an allocation on this one.

You’re right, they will look more modern, and I’m sure they’ll be very beautiful in their own right.

 By: BMR : March 19th, 2019-13:16
But I’m not sure they’ll be as harmonious as this one as a total package.

;) [nt]

Wonderful, thanks a lot Nico! I had to go teaching exactly when everything was being uploaded on the Patek site and look at all that happened in an hour!! :-)

 By: FabR : March 19th, 2019-13:22
First reaction: beautiful! I'm just a bit disappointed that the theme is exactly the same as the 5131J, but I'll be curious to see this piece in the metal with all details (I'll see it at some dinner in Italy on May 24, hopefully with the other rare handc...

Shadow on the Patek letters

 By: Patekfinity : March 19th, 2019-18:51
Yes the Patek and Geneve lettering are on the dial but somehow there is a shadow from the letters. Do you think it is on the glass surface of the cloisonne dial and not the base layer? Maybe that is why there is a shadow? ...

The 5131P is still on their website along with the new 5231J....

So it’s not discontinued?

I hope so! [nt]

this would be useless to you

The world is too big to fit in

 By: Watches4ever : March 19th, 2019-22:16
Tad smaller would be perfect to include Australia and Japan, don't think they want one without their countries on their wrist, my thoughts..

Here is the J....

Same continents, but with some differences on the location of the colors. ...

Magnificent!

 By: Watcholic_id : March 20th, 2019-06:33
and absolutely agree on the white metal version cheers

Seems that the minutes hands is less "fat" that on the old one ..?

Do you see it also like this ?

Great shots Amanico, question on size

 By: GreatPilot@me.com : April 13th, 2019-16:00
The new 38.5mm WT lacks the crown guard of the 5131, so is the 1mm (smaller) difference in the case due only to the absence of the crown guards? I believe they measure from 10 to 4 and it seems that the watch May truly be the same size but slimmer so to s...
