Looks to me like a problematic watch.

This madness comes from Rolex vintage world

Spider, tropical, brown, bold, thin, fat, patina, all the bla bla bla to raise the value and provide every watch of some uniqueness. These are just assets, no more, no less. Same insane trend has poisoned every vintage watch, watch market has been turned i...

Absolutely agree with you.

The so-called patina of most watches is nothing else than either technical deficiences or inappropriate treatment of the previous owner(s).

Very Well put! [nt]

I think creativity comes to words. Otherhand, advert text raised up and went wrong. And they have no clue about from nono’s can sometimes be profitable. But always look out for the cat who is a frog.

but it's 'free shipping to Belgium'.....

that's a hell of a 'good deal'.....πŸ€₯.....fu@#@#@#s.....

This is the best (actually, the worst) I've seen in a while! From the official description: "A beautiful grey/blue dial with golden points, like a starry sky! In perfect condition..."

If this type of ad is considered legal in Switzerland (or anywhere outside of Nigeria), then I think we have a serious problem! ;-)

Imagine trying to sell a car with that description

β€œThe underside of the carriage and brakes have a beautiful faded tropical patina that only adds to the vehicles personality β€œ

Right on! [nt]

I said it before, who's to blame?

 By: VMM : August 25th, 2019-10:47
The seller, or the buyer? Vte

To me it's the buyers first and foremost

By: India Whiskey Charlie : August 25th, 2019-13:11
Most of them are buying these watches for the wrong reasons. A celebrity wears a watch or says it's going to become collectable and people rush to buy them. It's really that simple.

I would blame the buyer, almost in every situation.

I learned that a long time ago, people seem to have lost their minds. Sellers are asking for ridiculous prices, then some buyers are willing to pay those amounts, and so it goes. Vte

The front of my old car and windscreen

are turned it in to a starry sky after many kilometers on the road and tons of small stones hitting it. Maybe the seller of this watch are ready to swap.

Auction houses are sometimes worse...

 By: patrick_y : August 25th, 2019-23:33
A lot of auction houses invent stuff. Mark 3.5 version, where the ".5" part is something completely new and unheard of.

The marketing blurb is ridiculous. Moving on from that onto the market overall.

 By: Langeholic : August 27th, 2019-02:55
I am in two minds. The price of a select few timepieces is totally ridiculous. However I do feel the horological community needs speculators, influencers, aspirational folk etc, otherwise prices will remain depressed and watch collecting will become a muc...

Thanks for an interesting response that made me...
