Short answer: Yes! :-) Frankly, I'm also against buying above retail (and never did), but since this piece is long discontinued, it might (psychologically) make more sense to do it...
Admittedly though, the 5131G goes for roughly 2x its (old) MSRP, which always makes it a difficult call. Also, always to give you all sides, its current value is not too far from the MRSP of a 5131/1P -- my personal favorite and perhaps the most distinguished of the entire 5131 family. While the P is still in the catalog, however, chances of getting one may once again be low at MSRP...since it's likely going to be discontinued very soon.
Finally, a possible *5231* G version would have no engraving on the bezel, should that be a deal-breaker....I'm not bothered by it, and actually I find it a nice peculiarity of this 5131 rare handcraft series, but I do see why some people don't love it.
In any event, as you may imagine, I can only be happy for you if you end up choosing this or any other gorgeous Patek rare handcraft....and it will be impossible to EVER have regrets!

1.since engraving is lovely handicraft. 2.looks much better than the tamponage on dual. 3.you hardly notice it during you wear it ,the dial will grab your attention.
I think it's way better than having patek philippe acrossn

Your love for the enamel worldtime is strong 💪! Perhaps get the 5231G at retail when it comes out and hopefully the launch will be soon.
Thinking 🤔 more, as a owner, IMO the problems non-owners have with the fonts and engraving are...
generated from photos which unnecessarily highlight these matters which are stuck in the minds of the viewers. The enamel map draws the eyes 👀 from anything else and outweighs whatever shortcomings. 😇

Gave up 3 watches to get a 5110G, and I haven't looked back! Only Patek I own: (And here's my secret: I think the regular Patek world timers are perfect as they are, and not improved by the enamel dials.) ...

Follow your heart, my friend. Though I fully understand the unwillingness to get this at market price.
I am also not particularly fond of the bezel engraving and the font used, but the beautiful enamel map compensate for all of those short comings.

A quintessential Patek, ticks on all boxes here... Possibly the most beautiful watch I've laid my eyes on. The only reason I don't own it yet is Covid-19.
