I too am a huge fan of these classic vintage pieces, it's just an area that requires more knowledge then I currently possess to find these real gems. This one is stunning and has a particularly interesting history.
Any idea why no "Swiss" designation on the dial? Was this common for the era?

....its one of the things I don't do. I will let PP open them up etc, but i don't feel comnfortable opening them in case i do damage...which is very probably.
