I have never had any issues and have owned a couple of variants for a few years including an early model.

The chronograph pusher action is not at all refined and it hasn't improved in the more recent variants, but that is just the design, not a manufacturing defect.

I was shocked by how crude the action is when I first experienced the watch. Every time you reset the chronograph, you wonder if the second hand will go flying off the pinion. I have used the chronograph a fair bit  on the 5960 and have not had any issues, so clearly this is just how it is designed.

If you can get over that, this is a somewhat unique watch.

5960A question

Hi all. I’m considering buying an early example of this model (standard white dial with red chrono hands from 2015), and I’m doing my due diligence. I’ve read anecdotes online that this model had reliability problems. Does anyone here have knowledge of su...

Pushers

 By: JBB : April 24th, 2021-01:05
Horo_Traveler, I could not agree more. The pushers are very rough compared with my 5170 and 5270. But, it's a great looking watch (5960/1A) and I enjoy wearing it (on its original bracelet; never was moved to use a strap instead as many other forum partic...

Agreed on the pushers.

You said it right...

My issue with the chronograph is the flyback function. Whenever I hit the pusher to activate the flyback, I almost always witness a wobble. In this regard, I often think about the Datograph’s solid precision. Yet, the 5960 is still a very nice watch. Best...

Mine had to go back to Patek for service 10 days after I bought it ...

Then again a year later - the same problem with one of the chronograph hands not resetting properly. Was fine afterwards, but I have had doubts about PP's quality control ever since then. Very nice, versatile watch. But because of the pusher feel, as othe...

I remember reading an owner reported the chronograph hand (red one) actually fell off by the forceful reset. But I guess that’s just an isolated incidence.

The 5969/1A is a great daily time piece. You won’t regret for acquiring it. Enjoy and please share with us more wrist shots!

Yes, no problem with mine, since 4 years.

Been to Granada once and loved it. Isn’t it dubbed the 8th wonder of the world?

Have to agree with others about pusher feel.

Anyone who says it's *bad* has never owned a Valjoux 7750. But it was the one place I expected more refinement from Patek than I got. In all other respects I found the 5960 really superb. I loved wearing it in all weather, with all sorts of clothes, on br...

Very good watch! My A and G both run perfectly without any issues

Pusher feel is a luxury problem 😄 and doesn’t make the model any bad imho.

Thanks for all the info and photos!

Sounds like a few people have had annoying difficulties, whereas most others have experienced nothing worse than unsatisfactory pusher response. I’m now leaning against buying the watch — not so much because of the reliability rumors, but because this par...

Is the chronograph portion the same movement as the 5980?

 By: Wristenthusiast : April 24th, 2021-18:13
If so then I can attest to the crunchy pusher feel as compared to other chronographs I’ve owned. The PP never malfunctioned, but it was not as buttery as my 3970. Just my opinion.

5110 Pusher feel.

Agree with you it is not perfect, but the notoriety for the worst feel/$$ has to be the Lange Timezone and and the finger indenting force needed to move the city ring . I thought my WG piece was defective when I purchased it back in the day, but the AD ha...

Wow! I did not know that.

I've never tried a Lange Timezone, though I've always appreciated the look. Interesting to hear that given how serious Lange is about smooth winding and chronograph engagement.
