though it wears rather large for a vintage Patek. Given the movement number, it was produced between 1955 and 1960, though I won't know the exact year until I receive an archive extract.

Yes, the leaf hands are original to this particular watch. as is the blued second hand. However, this ref. (1578) came in a number of variations, and I have seen an example with Dauphine hands, as well as early variations with a sub-dial rather than cente...
