Patek Philippe

Hi everyone, my 6007 just arrived and it is sooooo much better in person than in pictures. The Dial color is beautiful, the checkerboard middle section with the inside middle track is mesmerizing and complimented wonderfully with the muted grey strap with...  

...I could love this watch. But not as it is... All that matter is you love it....congrats : )

I know the date is an issue with purists but I like it, I also like it is SS and limited, a keeper both for looks and value...Jim

I was fortunate to grab one of the 6007’s right away. It’s a keeper and I love looking at it...Jim

....but can't get an allocation, unfortunately. Who cares about long/short lugs or date windows when the value pops 3x for owners...the "feel good" and happiness makes up for it.

Casual and sporty really describes the 6007, I actually like the longer lugs but do wish they were curved down a little...Jim

...of course, nobody wants to buy a watch that loses half it's value as soon as you walk out the AD's door. 3x only matters if you're a seller.

who knows someday you will be trading them for another more desirable “grail” so that plays into my consideration. Knowing the appreciation definitely makes it a no brainer.

And you've highlighted something important that's rarely mentioned or noticed, but which is actually one of the chief reasons why I'm crazy about Patek -- it is (and will hopefully always be) an independent brand! ;-) Enjoy your 6007A for long, as you are... 

haven’t got the date but it is coming. Yes people forget Patek is independent and calls the shots fo itself instead of a big corporation. The 6007 is truly a beautiful watch that I cannot quit looking at...Jim

Unless of course one wants to argue that Patek produces "too many" watches, or it's too rich, or successful, or anything of the usual rhetoric...but that would hopefully be a "different" story ;-) As we well know, not only is Patek's independence a big re...

Patek wouldn't fit most people's definition here of an Independent Watchmaker but they do make some nice watches.

Like the one I’ve owned for 47 years is a world apart from the big boys. Calling your own shots is a breath of fresh air albeit I know smaller independents are maybe more important in the new zoological creations...Jim

It is , however, way out of my budget now for a SS watch. Congratulation, its a lovely watch.

I especially like the overall balance the watch has, size, dial, strap, how it fits and even the date window. I have had at least 6 Calatrava’s and this is the best looking one yet...Jim
