Wholeheartedly agree, and this should be a no brainer for Patek (and others) to figure out in 2021!

An open letter to Patek..hear me out.

Patek Philippe, Hear me out. I think I have an idea/request that would benefit everyone of your customers and your company. Make all (excluding grand complications) dress watches water resistant enough to go swimming. The rating system for WR is known to ...

But wait..donā€™t alligators live in the wateršŸ˜‚

I think throwing in a rubber strap should become the new standard. Do I want a fancy wooden box or a rubber strap? Btw I recently got my PP back from service and it came in a tiny leather pouch. I think it would be great if new watches just came in those....

They make superb quality rubber straps that look like alligator, if you really want that look. -Dean

That's not a bad idea!

I've seen a pool party in LA LA Land (Los Angeles) where beautiful women pranked a man by throwing them into a swimming pool! I've seen it happen to one unsuspecting fella who was fully dressed in a blazer, nice shoes, and turtleneck. I don't think he was...

+10^x ... I posted something similar in a different thread lately because it drives me NUTS if ...

1. the manufacturers come up with all kinds of mechanically advanced complications (nobody really needs?!) and in 2021 are not capable? or willing? or whatever to seal more* of those suckers up to at least 10ATM (due to pressure peaks, including a healthy...

It should be standard for EVERY watch

to have a WR of at least 100m. So I fully agree and have never understood why this should not be possible?? But - unfortunately - even PANERAI produces a line of dress watches with a WR of just 30m (Luminor Due). So much for that. Best Thomas

I agree with your logic and demand both. That's very reasonable,to say the least.

If, if, if they agree at all then what would happen to our present watch collection? And how would pre-owned watch market react?

I think the classics would still be classics.

My 3940 and my 3970 arenā€™t water resistant, but they are not modern either. I just think if you are going to sell a modern watch, companies need to bring their A game. Rolex, though not at the same level of finishing movements as Patek, has made very dres...

Totally agree

Though Iā€™ll get ripped to shreds for sure because I want every watch to have a date also

WR was the reason I couldnā€™t keep my Omega

speedy pro, even though I tried hard for three times, and no I donā€™t think it is necessary this days to have screwed crown and pushers in order to have a satisfying WR ,some companies already have done that but seems that even the hard core watch guys doesn...

100m is surely overkill. But I agree with you.

How about a watch that can survive getting caught in a surprise thunderstorm/monsoon rain. A watch that can survive the accidental fall into a swimming pool and being submerged to 10 feet (3m...anything more and itā€™s more like voluntary diving). How about...
