Update

I have always had my winders set in around 650 tpd and it works fine for all my watches. It seems like when I increase tpd for the 3940 to around 1000 tpd it works fine (and also when worn) but not on lower settings. Probably time for service soon but isn’t it a bit strange that the only problem is that the date does not advance when all other complications work?

"If it sits on the winder for a few weeks it is always some dates after" Do I understand that to mean that your watch is gaining significant time (dates) when on the winder?

Update II

Upon further investigation (two years later…) I believe that the problem came from not setting the calendar correctly. I.e. functions in the correct order. If I follow the manual to the point, I have not had any problems, even on the winder.
