So it surprised me when I spotted it yesterday.
I’ve visited lots of AD’s all over the world this year and see this model in nearly every window. I even found a P in London.
Patek are either overproducing the 5170 or sales are slow. Defiantly one of the most beautiful modern Patek’s, not sure why they hang around.

The problem
with this watch is it is just to darn hard to read the time. The white gold hands unacceptably blend into the black dial in most lights. On the split chronograph black dial PP put lume on the hands so the time could be read. Why they did not do it on the ...

It wasn't so obvious in person, but I'm afraid that indeed legibility is not the best here. Something similar used to bother me on the 5205G anthracite dial. But must confess I'm still in love with it, love is blind 😉
Breguet numerals or baguettes, black or dark blue dial, G or P?
