It is a matter of good eyes. A dial replacement is an option. With a special cloth, the hair scratch can be removed by a Patek certified watchmaker.

Good news for your friend

There is a scratch on the dial. People are talking about the lines but they are confused.

To the left of the P in "Patek" there is a mark on the dial.

Does it help?

I would have never left the AD with that scratch on the dial :-(

Investigate this

 By: Weems@8 : August 1st, 2021-14:30
yes, a failure. Which angle is not important, the dial should be 100 percent and more perfect. I notice that to much watch lovers stare blind on Patek Philippe. If i was them, i should look at Vacheron Constantin. Developing an eye for perfection, i notic...

Yes told them to speak to the AD where it was purchased

And to be honest it can happen to any watch and any brand…I would be happy if Patek changed the dial and service it free of cost… I’ve had issues with Vacheron Chrono in which the VC logo fell off inside the dial and with Ap Royal Oak perpetual and the li...

That’s terrible

I hope Patek does right by your friend. It can happen to any brand but have been seeing stuff like this more and more from Patek, esp on the movement side. They have lost their edge.

👍😉

I bought my first Patek, well 2, Ladies and Gents 18kt.&SS Nautilus in 1986. I believe that makes 35 years for me and HSWA in New York always took good care of me

This is just how impressive..My model 3800 had a split stem crown that kept coming out of the case.

 By: MikiJ : August 1st, 2021-17:07
They repaired/replaced the crown and stem a "few" times NC. One of those times I asked if they could replace the champagne dial w/stick markers for the white dial with Roman markers used on their all 18kt. Nautilus. The next time my watch went in for serv...

there maybe another way to look at the fault of the lines not being uniform

 By: golden hands : August 1st, 2021-17:42
this mistake could make this watch a one off and very valuable watch and a multiple of the price paid for it just a thought!!

I had a similar problem after my watch went for a service.

 By: Poky : August 1st, 2021-17:45
When I asked the question I was told by Patek subtle "irregularities" are not usually picked up during the QC because the watch is only inspected at a distance of 15-20 cm. My dial was replaced quickly and free of charge but the watch came back with a scr...
