The 6119...

Apr 13, 2021,15:53 PM

The case of the 6119 are in many ways an upsized version of the 30mm 3796D from the 1990's.  The dial is of course different, but upscale the 3796D to 39mm and you have the 6119 .

New Release April 12th

 By: Patekfinity : April 12th, 2021-05:05
What do you think? Innovative? 5236P 6119R 6119G 4947/1A 4997/200G ...

6119g is pure fire

 By: CastorKrieg : April 12th, 2021-05:08
8.1mm, manual wind, 65hrs power reserve.

That’s pretty nice I was a big fan of the 5119 and 5120

 By: Watch_kha_wen : April 12th, 2021-06:53
Do you know what diameter it is ? And if they do it in white dial maybe ? Kev

Thanks!

 By: Watch_kha_wen : April 12th, 2021-10:43
Just looked them up it’s pretty nice. A shame it’s slightly bigger than the previous versions. Kev

MY HOBNAIL WATCH

 By: vicunaman1 : April 14th, 2021-08:12
Taking my 3520D out of the freezer.....still a beauty at 33mm. She'll be 50 this summer..

What a shot.

 By: amanico : April 14th, 2021-10:25

A BEAUTY !!!

 By: vicunaman1 : April 15th, 2021-08:01

5236P is a stunner.

 By: Pretty Boy : April 12th, 2021-05:14
I like this case shape anyway (3448, 5235 etc.), it’s pure class. The dial is very beautiful and legible. The only downside for me is the case diameter; would have preferred between 39 and 40 mm. Best, V.

The perpetual is the clear winner for me

 By: Patekphilippecollector : April 12th, 2021-05:17

BEST OF CLASS FOR 2021

 By: vicunaman1 : April 14th, 2021-08:17

PS: Here's a closeup:

...

great looking!!

 By: vicunaman1 : April 12th, 2021-08:23

my first thoughts on the perpetual

 By: GirlAndHerWatches : April 12th, 2021-05:23
1) novel new interpretation 2) at least in pictures, cluttered having week, day, month

But as someone whose eyesight is not great

 By: Patekphilippecollector : April 12th, 2021-05:38
I find window display better than dial..especially date...even I can remember the month so use the date more frequently...the movement also looks nicely finished

agreed with that!

 By: GirlAndHerWatches : April 12th, 2021-05:50
But I did look at more pictures, it reminds me of cyclopes! I wonder what it would look like with a little bit of spacing

that's great! :)

 By: GirlAndHerWatches : April 12th, 2021-06:12

makes me instantly forget about the Shrek'ish Nautilus.

 By: dms : April 12th, 2021-05:24
5236P is stunning ... but out of my reach. The clou de Paris on the 6119 is growing on me by the minute.

The perpetual calendar looks beautiful 🤩

 By: FRAMII : April 12th, 2021-05:26
Maybe 🤔 the 4947/1A is an attempt to get focus away from steel Nautilus watches???

Is the target audience really the same?

 By: CastorKrieg : April 12th, 2021-05:48
Apart from the same material 4947/1A is not really a sport watch, although steel+bracelet makes it a lot more versatile.

The 5236P is beautiful and offers an innovative way to display the perpetual calendar.

 By: LX (Alex) : April 12th, 2021-05:28
The combination of the case with the colors on the dial is sublime. The case size is modern without being too oversized. I am already in touch with my AD. I also like the 6119R in the classic Calatrava case and it has a very good power reserve (but it is ...

I think there are two VC cases - the 38mm traditionelle vs the 42mm "disc shaped" case

 By: pfang56 : April 12th, 2021-07:21
The VC 38mm is the model which seems to be more similar to the 6119. There is a nice write up on the VC on H.com which compares it to the FPJ CB and the Lange which gives a decent look at the case. Also the 38mm is 7.77mm thick with a similar PR, railroad...

As shared, 38mm and what the 6119 looks like is the traditionelle...

 By: pfang56 : April 12th, 2021-07:54
Traditionelle - very similar to 6119, and not necessarily a disc like case IMHO. Patrimony - more disc like as you mentioned...but not similar to the 6119 ...

I agree - the dial and hands are similar to the VC Patrimony Traditionelle

 By: NT931 : April 12th, 2021-05:56
Though the subdial is different. Still, I think it takes elements from the VC and gloms a hobnail bezel onto it. Not particularly harmonious, I feel.

The cases are different.

 By: LX (Alex) : April 12th, 2021-06:04

+1

 By: Gwai : April 12th, 2021-07:16
Huge fan of the VC 82172 here, whose hands (and bezel) I vastly prefer. The Calatrava case and the movement are quite beautiful, though. Cheers Marc

mmmmmm

 By: anaroku : April 12th, 2021-05:30
I can`t welcome them with my sincere hospitality quickly. But probably I would gradually tend to accept them.

Oho! Aha! At last!

 By: Esharp : April 12th, 2021-05:40
Finally, a new Calatrava without that darned dare window. I’m not sure if the 6119 works for me completely yet: clous de Paris railroad track with little dots outside the main indexes sorta-Dauphine hands...might be one element too many; what if the railr...

I would have liked to see the 5236P in the Calatrava case of the 6119 sans hobnail.

 By: LX (Alex) : April 12th, 2021-05:46
However, the 5326P is a stunning watch and I am sure it will be a successful model.

Long time coming...

 By: Monopolisf : April 12th, 2021-05:46
I view both the 5236P and the 6119R/G as long overdue. These releases are all about next generation movements and they are stunning! I will be enthusiastic to see the 5236P’s new perpetual calendar movement and the new 6119’s manual wind trickle down to o...

Pt micro rotor is cool on the perp.

 By: coz : April 12th, 2021-05:47
Like the manual movement too.

The movement of the 5236P looks nice and I like the case shape

 By: George Gently : April 12th, 2021-05:54
I would be a lot more impressed though, if they got rid of all the pusher in the case band.

thanks!

 By: keks : April 12th, 2021-06:06
I think this is a welcome addition to the lineup... long overdue.. both the time only and the perpetual... very nice!

Thank you for updating the pictures!

 By: Patekfinity : April 12th, 2021-07:03
Thank you! Thanks for updating the pics as well. Definitely looking forward to seeing these references in person. The 5236P may be slightly large with case diameter of 41.3mm...will need to see on wrist the taper of the lugs.

Patek's MSRPs for the five new models....These are already available on Patek's site as well (as usual, there might be a slight difference, e.g. of +/- $2 for the 5236).

 By: FabR : April 12th, 2021-06:15
U.S pricing: Patek Philippe Ref. 4947/1A-001 $47,904 Patek Philippe Ref. 4997/200G-001 $36,667 Patek Philippe Ref. 5236P-001 $130,108 Patek Philippe Ref. 6119G-001 $29,570 Patek Philippe Ref. 6119R-001 $29,570

Evolutionary innovation but stunning!

 By: pfang56 : April 12th, 2021-06:24
On first glance - the 6119 looks very much like the 2013 Vacheron Constantin Traditionelle Small Seconds, but adds a nice hobnail bezel. I have been eyeing some of these in the past in a grey variant, so to see it similarly configured in PP is interesting...

Some photos of VC...

 By: pfang56 : April 12th, 2021-06:43
...

My preference is for the VC 82172 vs. the Patek 6119

 By: LS : April 12th, 2021-08:05
I think the VC is more original in design. The VC has the Geneva seal. Subdial is nice. And the dial furniture is not overdone. It looks like the 6119 tried to combine the the VC with some of the older saxonia dial. The ~50% premium for the Patek very ric...

Agreed.

 By: Gwai : April 12th, 2021-10:07
Cheers Marc

Agreed.

 By: andyhud : April 12th, 2021-12:27
The handset on the 6119 is less attractive IMO. I like the dauphine style (I think that is it) on the VC and think that's a better fit with the rest of the dial furniture. Otherwise I think the 6119 is a slam dunk. The hobnailing probably looks great in p...

Stunning

 By: Velobuck : April 12th, 2021-06:33
I can’t stop staring at it!

5236 date seems awkward to me, especially the extra gap between the two day digits.

 By: LK : April 12th, 2021-06:50
I wonder if they tried sapphire disks or frames to produce a more unified linear triple date. I would assume they tried everything, but the outcome isn't totally satisfying.

Pleasure, thanks for commenting👍🥂

Hmmm - not fully convinced.....

 By: lm6 : April 12th, 2021-06:58
Must - as always - see them in the metal. The 6119 seems to be struggling - not knowing what it want's to be. The bezel and the hour-markers gives it (in the pictures at least) a very robust and "masculine" attitude - but at the same time it tries to be e...

Well done Patek! ♥️

 By: tempus : April 12th, 2021-07:08
Love the 6191R!!! From the back, too ♥️ Great Perpetual Calendar, but 39/40 mm would be enough for me...It has to be on the wrist before a final judgement...great anyway! Good year for PP...maybe sth more to come? Best Tempus

I love the 6119 movement

 By: Chromatic Fugue : April 12th, 2021-07:33
Not quite so sure about the dial side. Would prefer it not to have a hobnail bezel. To me, at least, that feature adds a degree of dressiness/fustiness at odds with the athletic straightforwardness of the rest of the watch. Luckily, Patek will use the sam...

Looks amazing

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : April 12th, 2021-16:09

+1👍🥂

 By: FabR : April 12th, 2021-16:19

Too large!

 By: sham1 : April 12th, 2021-07:22
That's my verdict on the 5236P and the 6119G and R. Yes they have beautiful movements but the perpetual calendar should be no more than 39mm rather than 41.3mm. As for the 6119, it is refreshing to see a movement other than a 215 or 240 or 324 being used ...

Drool time to save up

 By: gunungbesarsekali : April 12th, 2021-07:39
Very nice releases from patek love the steel annual, new calatrava is awsome too, that perpetual calendar great year from patek

It's not often that Patek can one-up Angelus...

 By: blau : April 12th, 2021-07:43
But they did it this time! 😉 ...

First, PP has a bad typo on their site....

 By: mdg : April 12th, 2021-07:43
The 6119R is listed as 'Yellow Gold.' When I saw the photo in this thread I thought, 'wow, I hope it's available in Yellow gold. Went to the site and it said 'Yellow gold.' But it's got an 'R' after it and the next page lists it as Rose gold. Aestheticall...

Still there on multiple browsers and my phone...

 By: mdg : April 12th, 2021-09:58
...but it's their problem I guess... As someone who has had the responsibility to edit websites, it's literally a 90-second job to correct it...

On the 5236...went to Patek site...the case looks a bit chunky. Chunkier than the 11mm.

 By: mdg : April 12th, 2021-07:48
I guess I expected thinner for a micro-rotor movement.

Calatrava

 By: chris7509 : April 12th, 2021-07:56
Big fan of the new Calatrava - Black one, probably my first "simple" PP ... I d love to be able to afford the perpetual but it is out of my league ... Besides, with this price point it starts also touching the double high complications like PP + chrono i ...

Well Done Patek

 By: drphileasfogg : April 12th, 2021-08:07
New Perpetual and Calatravas are fantastic. Today, PP has shown one more time that they are at the top of this industry.

To me the overall line up is great, especially the

 By: GLau : April 12th, 2021-08:08
5236P and 4947/1A. Do know believe there has been a steel annual calendar before.

Love the black calatrava just not sold yet on the hands. They seem a bit broad and sporty for a watch like this.

 By: ChetBaker : April 12th, 2021-08:11
They appear similar to the ones on the newer GS lines. I think I would have preferred the handsets of any of the other models. Need to see in the flesh.

The 5236 is a marvel of innovation

 By: Chromatic Fugue : April 12th, 2021-08:15
I also like the simplicity of the dial’s presentation. But one misgiving and one observation. First, I keep thinking “there should be a space between the day and the date and between the date and the month.” That might be peculiar to me because I do a lot...

The 6119 G is my favorite.

 By: jlux : April 12th, 2021-08:31
But overall really nice offerings from PP!

May I say that this is Patek?

 By: piccolochimico (aka dsgalaxy1) : April 12th, 2021-08:32
I like them all. The movement of calatrava looks gorgeous

The perpetual is awesome

 By: VinnieD : April 12th, 2021-08:40
But I am attracted to the 6119G even though I am usually not a fan of hobnail bezels. Here, the bold hands, dial texture (vertical brushed, my favourite), and the superb updated movement make it a winner. To be tried on the wrist!

Talked with Paris Salon ...

 By: chris7509 : April 12th, 2021-09:08
Looks like they have the watches (at least presentations ones and probably not the Nauti ...) and we are waiting for the lock down here to end so that they can present them face to face ...

Thank you as a fellow Parisian!

 By: CastorKrieg : April 12th, 2021-11:16
Hopefully I will be able to try them soon - just learned that my SA moved on from Patek, so I need to make a new friend

very interesting new releases

 By: Mr.Gatsby : April 12th, 2021-09:09
Gotta see them in the flesh. The calatravas look promising ...5236p is well executed in my humble opinion, alas for me the size is a problem and I feel the case shouldn’t go beyond 40mm. Nevertheless, have to see them in the flesh

the 5236P is a stunning... not sure what kind of AD relationship you need though to get it now!

 By: Watches_passion : April 12th, 2021-09:11
do you guys know if this model is available for sale or orders will need to wait 6 month and then 10 years on wait list!

I’m going to guess based on very little data that you will be able to buy this

 By: Francoamerican : April 12th, 2021-09:18
Although I agree it’s a triumph in a way the 5320 and 5172 were not - non-sports are generally all available. People are too busy spending six figures on grey market aquanauts because of John Meyer.

I like the architecture of the new movements. Otherwise...

 By: oyster case : April 12th, 2021-09:26
The 5236p date display doesn't work for me, a cluttered line with off putting round wheel sides. Also pretty large dimensions not in keeping with a PP pc. The 6119, as many others have said, is extremely similar and not as attractive as the Vacheron Const...

Thrilled to finally see a cohesive design at the “entry level”

 By: Francoamerican : April 12th, 2021-09:26
The 6119g has the beautiful design Patek had been only offering lately on grand complications; the watch aesthetic could have been for the new minute repeater or tourbillon but it’s for a simple 3 hander. Also nice to see that the best execution of Patek ...

Vacheron and Patek showing how it’s done.

 By: ChetBaker : April 12th, 2021-10:49
Why not crank out a purple comic colab just to underline how irrelevant you have become.

The appearance of day date and month in a single aperture is not only very innovative but also very attractive for me!

 By: Centurionone : April 12th, 2021-10:24
Vertical satin finish on the dial is also very nice, and the platinum micro rotor totally unexpected but lovely surprise indeed.

Gorgeous!!

Ref. 5196 in 39/40 mm and cal. 30-255 PS... I might consider Patek again.

They will be relieved

 By: Patekphilippecollector : April 13th, 2021-19:48

As individual it won’t matter, indeed.

By: Pour le Mérite : April 14th, 2021-07:22
But I’m hear to convince people to think different and judge based on facts.

Yes but I read most of your posts and they seem to be

 By: Patekphilippecollector : April 14th, 2021-08:07
Prejudiced towards patek and hence loses the objectivity of your observations.

You’d know better if you read all my postings.

By: Pour le Mérite : April 14th, 2021-09:04
I’m very objective and unbiased in terms of criticism. I don’t sugarcoat any brand. Shit is shit.

Perp

 By: keks : April 12th, 2021-11:18
5236 is stunning... amazing dial layout... and a seconds hand! And micro rotor... perfection!!

I am impressed by these novelties

 By: patrickh : April 12th, 2021-11:55
I applaude the innovative 5236P calibre. And hope to could see it in real to check the legibility of the "day date month". Maybe, looking at official photos, I should have expected a different color (i.e. blue) just for the date to increase the legibility...

I agree. To make the single line of information more legible I think the day and date wheels should be blue with white lettering, then there would appear to be more separation, and the date would stand out better.

 By: BigAppleBill : April 12th, 2021-14:26
While the case size is slightly large for a traditional micro rotor PC, the lugs and case lines are appealing. I also like that it’s a PC with a seconds function. The use of steel on the 4947 is exciting. If it had a salmon dial with charcoal hands, numbe...

Starting to feel the hobnail is incongruous

 By: Francoamerican : April 12th, 2021-13:40
Hobnail needs romans I think - bauhaus and whatnot - non hobnail and it would have been great fresh Calatrava.

6119 R is the one ...well done Patek .

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : April 12th, 2021-16:10

Evocative of VC on the dial side.

 By: Horo_Traveler : April 12th, 2021-17:38
The hobnail isn’t for me, but that is a matter of personal taste. I wonder if the larger diameter will further exacerbate the thin dinner plate feeling of the 5196 with this enlarged case size. At least on my wrist, the thickness needs to increase slightl...

I’m not sure I get the 4947.

 By: Wristenthusiast : April 12th, 2021-18:17
It looks good. But they had that layout, then went to the layout of 5396 and now back to this. I guess they did it on purpose to offer a variety?

great new offering from PP

 By: watch-guy.com : April 12th, 2021-19:38
The PC is a stunner , same case as 5235 Not sure I would spend $130 k though to acquire it But kudos to PP for a new ( really new - not new colour ) watch Julian

Design excellence in the perpetual

 By: chintu : April 13th, 2021-04:31
The in-line date display is a design delight. Perfectly sized and legible and keeping the dial uncluttered. Patek has stepped up the game and made it tougher for other brands to do any better. IMHO this is a gauntlet thrown at A.Lange & Sohne's Lange ...

30-255 PS

 By: chintu : April 13th, 2021-06:32
Seems surprisingly low on hand finishing; no artisanal level of anglage to be excited about ; and the rubies have been set into pressed chatons and thus no screws either around the chatons. One might argue that the blued screws are more a Glashutte tradit...

It occurred to me that

 By: chintu : April 13th, 2021-22:53
Patek has not yet been able to create a perpetual where all the indications ( day; date, month) can be adjusted by one pusher; and at the same time also each indication individually adjustable if needed, by separate pushers. Patek perpetuals also do not h...

 By: w220 : April 13th, 2021-15:53
The case of the 6119 are in many ways an upsized version of the 30mm 3796D from the 1990's. The dial is of course different, but upscale the 3796D to 39mm and you have the 6119 . Image credits grayandsons. ...

I was lucky enough to see them in the metal at the Geneva Salon. There is clearly a theme here: 4 of the 5 look significantly better in the metal. The Calatravas are truly beautifully executed. The 6119G in particular is extremely elegant and the finish o...
