To me, a pocket watch is meant for the "pocket."

...some of the early wristwatches were pocket watches that were adapted with a strap.

I bought it like that (sealed).

This really took me by surprise. Is this pocket watch representative of other pocket watches? The size is so small, so I wonder how practical it was for use.

I think at that time most ladies used it as a necklace or pendant (as seen in the referenced magazine pics above).

I didn’t realize that was what you were demonstrating with the pics…I thought you were being artistic. I appreciate the historic significance.

I think it has to do with whether you ask for it. Sometimes, when the service takes longer than usual, or something happens during the warranty period, they give it without you asking.

My wife also uses it sometimes as a bag charm.

Perhaps you can change it into a wrist watch ??🤣
