What a classy classic πŸ‘πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ, a timeless beauty. Wear it in the best of your health !

Ooops my mistake, the sub counters on the dial...

 By: Mike H : May 15th, 2019-23:02
...gave me the impression that they were the typical sunk sub counters of the fist generation. Wrong assumption 🀭

Lovely watch!

May I ask how long the service took and when was the last time you had it serviced? Just curious on the maintenance schedule of one of these quintessential Pateks

Not sure it is that long...

3940 is not anymore in PO catalogue since long but the 240Q caliber inside is still in production and widely used so can be serviced with no major problems. We’ll see what Roland says...

I had it serviced at in the Singapore service center.

They still have all the parts.

Initially the service center told me 12 weeks. But I got it in 10 weeks.

Previous owner service it 8 years ago. But generally for my watches, I send them for service in between 5 to 7 years. Watch with more wrist time, I usually send in about 5 years as per manufacturer recommendation.

I totally agree with you...

This was confirmed to me by a watchmaker.

I too subscribe to this rule Nico.

Don't fix anything that is not broken. People tend to associate watch maintenance with that of cars. The difference is cars we tend to rely on for reliability so they need constant servicing. Watches less so.

Thanks Roland for the heads up.

That is a pretty quick service time. I am impressed with the Singapore service centre. Perhaps I will send my Pateks there from now onwards instead of to London.

The customer service there is great. [nt]

If you are in town drop me a DM. We can have coffee below Patek service center. I am splitting my time between Singapore and KL because a new KL project.

Hi Roland!

Thanks for the invitation. When you are next in KL after Hari Raya, please send me a PM and I will gladly buy you a coffee! I seldom go to Singapore to be honest but I shall be there for the Patek exhibition in September/October.

Stunning classic Patek. Full of Patek DNA.

I have seen one of these on Philippe Stern’s wrist a few times so you are in good company. Glad your baby is back all serviced and ready for the next few years service. Enjoy. Miles.

Thanks you [nt]
