Oops.. Do you read your owner’s manual?

 By: Fjan : March 1st, 2021-12:13
I was just trying to adjust the date on my 5235.. I press the wrong push piece and switched the month.. so I for the first time ever I went online to read the owner manual which I thought I know everything through my ownership experience.. boy am I wrong!...

Specialty boutiques, of course!

How much was it?

 By: Reuven Malter : March 1st, 2021-13:08
I guess they charge much because of the exotic material. Just like on any ceramic watch lol.

;-)

No message body

OK, I did my homework as your mod and it seems reasonably safe to say your stylus IS real gold ;-)

 By: FabR : March 1st, 2021-18:16
I can no longer find any material specific to your 5235G, but I just checked the info I was given for the 5270J, which includes the sentence: "Delivered with correction stylus in ebony and 18K yellow gold." (Not including the whole document since it's not...

I always poke randomly only thing I make sure i set the time first to 12 noon. 😬

I could have already done some damages to the movement. Well they can fix it on the next service πŸ˜‰

6 AM is a golden rule in watchmaking

 By: drphileasfogg : March 1st, 2021-15:06
No harm can be done at 6 AM and it is true for all complications as far as I know. For my calendar, I usually follow the instruction with a twist: I set it to the first day of the previous month, then I just advance the date going through the end of the p...

Interesting..

 By: Fjan : March 2nd, 2021-11:21
As for myself I always set the date a day before and I will adjust the time pass midnight to sure all flip over to the correct today’s date.. I will give your practice a go next time round πŸ˜‰

I've seen Patek Dealer employees who've just abused the watch...

 By: patrick_y : March 2nd, 2021-08:56
Not many Patek dealer employees have read the manual. I always tell them, I'll set the watch myself, thank you.

I totally get your point..

 By: Fjan : March 2nd, 2021-11:25
For me, I specially dislike the later non screw bracelet for nautilus.. I can’t stand seeing my dealer hammering the pins off the bracelet especially when they are new agents and are sloppy due to lack of confidence and experience. Worse if your nautilus ...

I've seen a Patek Dealer employee just scratch the watch with the setting pin multiple times while setting the watch...

 By: patrick_y : March 2nd, 2021-12:30
First he didn't know there was a rule to set the watch to 6:00 AM. Then he started to hit every setting pin in no particular order. He scratched the case multiple times. Some of these employees are true idiots. I'd even say most of them are. And lots of t...

Wow. That's nuts. Really bad customer care.

Actually it is so disrespectful to the watch brand and should not be tolerated.

I try to imagine store operations in my head.

 By: patrick_y : March 2nd, 2021-22:24
And I can imagine that there isn't an "expert" who is always on duty at many stores. Not every store has a watchmaker, and even if they did, he may not work 7 days a week. So if you think from an operations point of view, the managers won't necessarily ke...

I think part of the problem is that’s a salesman do not know what it’s like to own a high-end time piece.

By: Costa (aka Connie) : March 3rd, 2021-06:27
If they understood that and actually owned these watches themselves they would be much more careful and much more respectful of the watch. It’s like looking at a Monet, Rembrandt , Koons, or any other kind of painting. You treat these pieces of art with t...

True... And how can one expect that...

 By: patrick_y : March 3rd, 2021-10:38
I'm not saying all people who work in retail treat it as a temporary job, absolutely not, but many are just unaware. This particular salesperson that I have in mind has been at a major jeweler for dozens of year and has been in the high-end luxury retail ...

Follow the steps

 By: yazanhatahet : March 4th, 2021-09:34
I follow the steps carefully when adjusting my annual calendar as well, as for the stylus pen, its made of white gold, and there is two hallmarks at the top of the pen ...

So you're saying that...

...pulling the crown to set the time with the watch on my wrist while SCUBA diving in the Mariana Trench was what ruined my ref. 3939? I just thought it needed to be demagnetized. At least now I know.
