SOMETIMES, IT PAYS TO RECONSIDER THE RULES

Hi Miles,

First off, I can see what a struggle this is for you and I empathize with your plight.  I feel that there have been many good suggestions made in this thread and it seems they have been helpful for you.

I have often tried to make myself stick to some rules in various matters in my life and sometimes I find that while those rules served me well when they were initially crafted, times and circumstances change and it periodically made sense for me to reconsider whether or not I should continue to stick to those rules.  Sometimes the answer was yes and sometimes the answer was no.

For me, I try not to make a final decision until I see the watch on my wrist as there is no substitute for that  view.  I suspect if you were to obtain the 5970 P now, you would probably be able to recoup most or all of the purchase price if you opted to sell it soon after your purchase, but you may not be able to buy another new one from your AD in the future.  As I understand it, the 5970 P will have the lowest production numbers of all the 5970 models.

I don't know what your financial circumstances are, but if you could afford to buy the 5970 P AND keep the 5970 R as well, then you could decide at your leisure what changes you would make in your collection after you have had a chance to reflect on the decision for an extended time.

Just my .02.  My hope for you is that you will look back without significant regret on whatever choice you make.  Best of luck!

Cheers!
