Umm 🤔...the blue dial looks great and

has a moon 🌝 phase. However since this is a Patek forum, I am biased because the calatrava is an iconic reference. Naturally your choice also involves your personal selection criteria.

Tough call.

The Patek is a classic Calatrava, and one of Patek’s nicest in the last 15 years, the other being the 5127. Beautiful Geneva seal movement via the well regarded cal 315. The JLC is modern with its blue dial and a bit larger than the Patek. The JLC is more...

Patek. No contest.

Watchbox is negotiable

Don’t forget. They usually offer 5% to 10% off. Sometimes more depending on the piece.

Do you have to be bullish on the négociation with them? I contacted them previously and all the offered was

0.4%…which sounded more like a joke to me. Cheers Kev

Calatrava, without a doubt

Both are great looking watches, so…

I would do a “rational” thinking. Do you often look at the date on your watch ? If so, by experience, I would take the Calatrava for the better readability, on the JLC, for sure you will need to have a more focus to get the date. If moon phase is a compli...

Both beautiful but it would be the Patek for me tbh .

Hmm…

As someone who owns both JLC and Patek watches, I am unbiased with regards to the brands. But… I do not think these two watches are anywhere near each other in price point. If you put price aside for a moment it comes down to personal taste. Cover up the ...

I gave it some thought

It depends on a few factors: 1) What is your collection theme? I guess u wanna fill a space with a dressy piece.. 2) Do you have a moonphase piece in your collection? Do you really like the moonphase? Do you really like the Calatrava for some special reas...

My personal (humble) advice:

if you are not completely convinced of a watch immediately when you see it, your heart beats faster and you REALLY want to have this gem, then don't buy it. Personally, I would not buy a watch just from a rational point of view. And: no matter what advice...

Hahaha😁 If you ask questions on this forum, JLC won't win.

Of course I also recommend the 5017, and the window date is much easier to read than the pointer date. It's a different story if it's a collection, but you probably don't need the moon phase for everyday use.

:))))

not 5017 but 5107 sorry

Some decisions ought to be made by oneself, and not by committee.

Good luck, and don't forget to consider... Both choices may be the wrong choice, since it's obvious you don't love one enough to have bought it when you saw it in person.
