Outstanding acquisition!
Congratulations on acquiring this.
I went through something of a similar journey in deliberating for some years as between a yellow gold 3970, a 5970 or this exact watch, I chose this for several reasons. 1. For all our love of the Lemania movement this is the first series of the first ever in house PPC and that has a romantic appeal as well,as being something that will grow in significance. 2. It is by far the most ‘legible’ of the PPCs with the absence of the tachymetre scale, and 3. Because of 2 I can read it as my eyes weary!!
It also looks damn cool on different straps....

I agree with you Mike but only to a certain extent. I have owned PCC before from multiple manufacturers, Patek included. Although I am a huge chronograph fan, I prefer the chrono function by itself, UNLESS it is quirky and artful like early RD pieces...
You know I just picked up a Lange Double Split just last week which I consider "The King of Chronographs." I much prefer a Rattrapante over a PCC since I can focus on the chronograph and not get distracted by the Perpetual Calendar function. We'll see how...

Very true and I agree Mike. Some don't like the thickness and looks of a Lange case but not me. I look at the overall package and in my opinion there is nothing better technically than the Double Split besides maybe the Triple Split...

Regarding grail watches, I think that there are some grail watches that would stop myself from getting more and more watches… but I’m not sure because I still haven’t got my grail watch 😂
Many collectors say that the 5270 doesn’t meet the traditional PP standards. But imho it’s a big advantage of PP to always move on and create new designs
Biggest congrats for this acquisition 👍. The G -001 has surely got a very beautiful dial (for me the most beautiful of all G). If you have a wrist for the 41 mm case, and you surely have as we can see on your pics, the 5270 is a wonderful and easy wearing...
