Vladimir Putin's Patek 5039
I came across this photo of Putin wearing what appears to be a 5039. I am not sure the photo on the right is the correct guess of hat is on his wrist. Do you guys think it’s a 5039 he’s wearing in the left photo? It doesn’t look like there is the hobnail ...
Not sure if it's a hobnail bezel...
but the 5039j is right up there with my favorite PP perpetuals. Some find it too 'flashy,' but I first fell in love with the 3919 and this has the same look.

In the past he was spotted with serious Lange pieces, probably a nice throwback to his East Germany station.
The lugs on Putins watch do not look as straight.
His lange connection is really funny because it shows that he is kind of a man from the past. I think he left Dresden in 1986 or so, long before ALS was on the collectors map again. A great story.

Hard to judge precise. This picture is slightly better.
Politics aside, he seems like a genuine watch lover with the likes of Blancpain Leman, Breguet La Marine, Chronometre Bleu or even IWC Pilots Watch. And besides the Calatrava Perpetual he was never really spotted wearing the super exensive stuff. ...
A geniuine watch lover and he has a great taste imo.

i have heard this a few times though. I have read that his official income in the time he bought these watches was less then what these watches cost. So there is an obvious difference between his
official and real wealth. And we dont really know how much he actually has.
My friend, he is a dictator after all. And a dictator never owned a country. He can control the system for some time but neither he owns it nor he is considered as a rich man. ill-gotten wealth doesn't count. Just my 2 cents.
Perhaps that is the reason that no drug lord has made it to Forbes rich people list. And Putin is no better than a thug in plain language.
