Relatively rare, but how cool! There is no bad 5960, especially in steel.

Indeed -- certainly releasing and pulling this new iteration within a year helped increase the appeal of the whole 5960 line! Excellent catch ;-)

It was actually this very same weekend (immediately prior to Christmas) and it was shown to me after I stopped by to see a watch friend who worked at an AD (not my AD though). I thought about it right there and if they had been flexible I would have pulle... 

Thanks for sharing this beauty with us. Our taste does change with time/ age. When 5960/1A was launched, I found its bracelet old fashioned and not attractive at all.

However, with increasing white hair, this beauty (especially the short production black dial version) sings louder to louder to me. Sadly couldn't get it from AD any more....... Enjoy yours in the best of health! Cheers, Henry

This black dial 5960/1A still haunts me. I was presented this watch at Patek Place Vendôme and turned it down to acquire another watch at the time. I should have spent a bit more time with it on my wrist than just 2 minutes...

My AD (a small family owned) received 2 pieces and I was offered one but I turned it down and got the 5968A

I can definitely relate 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️
