On both my latest Patek (movement below) and my recent jlc moon phase I hear a lot the rotor moving when wearing them. Is that normal ??they are both brand new and in very good conditions so I am just wondering since none of my other watches are that nois...

I barely move my wrist and I can hear the rotor dancing like crazy. Surprised me too the first time. Kev

JLC is a terrible culprit here. Who the heck wants to hear bearings rattling around in what's supposed to be a finely engineered movement? Regardless of the superiority of ceramic ball bearings, the noise is not luxury.

And I have to confess: I like it! It makes the watch feel - and hear - alive. IMHO, the sound of the rotor on the 324 and 240 is exactly this: a ‘sound’, not a ‘noise’.

This is normal and the rotor sound of some certain caliber such as 26-330 even louder than this 240. You may wonder why micro-rotor has the same (or more) amount of sound as the normal rotor, it is because the thickness of micro-rotor is thicker than the ...
