Say goodbye to the 5711/a

 By: Bruno.M1 : January 16th, 2021-12:20
We don’t like rumours but I think I can say my source is enough trustworthy. It’s discontinued ...

Bye👋

 By: Brandon Skinner : January 16th, 2021-12:26

what about 5712?

 By: Reuven Malter : January 16th, 2021-12:27

Good riddance!

 By: blau : January 16th, 2021-12:31
Patek needs to get this monkey off their back. (I'm joking... but only sort of)

WHAT???

 By: patrick_y : January 16th, 2021-12:51
Uh oh! Goodness, what will happen now that it's discontinued??? The world will come to an end for all of those people who want one so badly...

A reminder out of correctness that, as far as models being introduced or discontinued, there's *nothing* official yet -- this is currently just a rumor. As soon as any official announcement is made to the press, I will of course share it here immediately

 By: FabR : January 16th, 2021-13:01
Without commenting specifically on the 5711, please remember that most rumors that are circulated at this time of year about Patek references *are* inaccurate...even when these come from ADs/lower level employees/bloggers/etc., since (almost) anything can...

On the first of April?

 By: holdemchamp1225 : January 16th, 2021-14:49

So....the price of this model (grey market, pre-owned) will skyrocket even more...dare I say, USD 100K ?

 By: hoseachandra : January 16th, 2021-16:13
Fortunately I don't like this model, so no problem with me (not that I can afford it however). Congratulations for the owners out there.

It's fun when watches skyrocket in value BUT---

 By: Mostel : January 16th, 2021-16:32
unless they gain --what--20-30K a year?? Is it really financially meaningful? I sold a 5970 12 years ago for about 35K less than it is worth now... That is 2.9K a year... Like this 5711... yeah it's skyrocketing... but if you paid 50K for it --so what? Ye...

Guys...

 By: Mostel : January 17th, 2021-08:59
Sorry for discussion of value. The subject of discontinuation especially with Patek is 'pregnant' with $$, but still, should refrain. Moderator, my apologies. Thanks.

Why discontinue

 By: watch-er : January 16th, 2021-18:32
their most popular model?

and replaced by a ceramic model ha ha

 By: Patekphilippecollector : January 16th, 2021-22:20

😂

 By: FabR : January 17th, 2021-06:19

Yeah it’s the right time to go..

 By: Fjan : January 16th, 2021-22:25
it has been around for a long time since 2006.. I had gotten bored of mine n I have not been using it for the pass few years. I am excited n looking forward to the new replacement! Thank you for the tip off! 🥂 Jen

Let's wait for the formal announcement from Geneva.

 By: joenghenry : January 16th, 2021-22:31
No matter it’s discontinued or not, the chance to get this reference nowadays is very slim. Regret for not getting this and chose 5712A instead few years ago, when it was not difficult to get both at AD.... even with discount from list price!!!

It will be replaced by a bigger one

 By: Bruno.M1 : January 16th, 2021-23:11
And that’s a pity ... I hoped they have the guts to stop making it for a decade or a bit longer. Or only make it in precious metal for example. Sometimes it’s just better to stop making it and go for something completely new... even if it’s a hot item Tha...

Always in an effort to stick to facts Bruno, enamel WTs have a very, very long and prestigious tradition for Patek, which started way earlier than the modern 5131 series.

 By: FabR : January 17th, 2021-06:14
As for opinions, I'm actually very happy this long-standing tradition is immediately continuing, in-catalog, with the 5231. I find it a more sensitive approach than, for instance, limiting future enamel WTs to the 5077/5089 series, or to sporadic LEs. Thi...

If you get a new and want the previous ...

won't be difficult to trade these to .. of sell yours with a big profit and buy a 5711 with a big premium. Doesn't sound wrong to me

Bye Bye & if

 By: patrickh : January 17th, 2021-02:48
the newer has Cal 260 and WR 120meters, I am in ;-) Cross fingers ++++

260 a new movement?

 By: FRAMII : January 17th, 2021-08:10

Patek and new movements... keep dreaming, buddy!

By: Pour le Mérite : January 22nd, 2021-08:30
It's all about milking the crowd.

Hard to believe

 By: watch-er : January 17th, 2021-08:02
There is one online for 92K, now we know why. Why discontinue this model makes no sense to me.

I’m a little surprised...

 By: Monopolisf : January 20th, 2021-17:57
...to hear that demand and prices are increasing upon the news the model is being discontinued. Why pay an insane premium for a discontinued model that will almost certainly be replaced by an improved version? At a minimum, the clasp on the 5711 is long o...

Perspective.

 By: Wristenthusiast : January 17th, 2021-09:51
When a model number is discontinued, it is often replaced. 3940 begets 5140. 3700 begets (with some in between) 5711. So if they upgrade the movement they would give it a new number. Don’t worry, there will always be a nautilus that you can’t get.

The world is going crazy

 By: happymsp : January 17th, 2021-21:10
If this model get discontinued, the market for one will climbed to million (HKD) for sure. Poor 5712A will be in the gutter..

Finally. Hopefully there won't be any successor for the most uninspiring, average manufactured and overhyped watch within the industry.

By: Pour le Mérite : January 22nd, 2021-08:25
Don't act surprised. It was to be expected as the white dial happend to be discontinued last year.

Never my cup of tea...

 By: mdg : January 22nd, 2021-10:52
...but nice I guess. The designer who implemented the date window should have been fired on the spot. Congrats to you owners on making a bundle of cash. Dilettantes will flip them and Purists will keep them.

Patek means dress watch to me,

By: Time to watch : January 22nd, 2021-22:02
And so the Nautilus never really appealed to me. I always found it to look better in pictures than how it feels in real life. What I do like about the nautilus however is it’s ability to distract the fashion world from the real Patek candy that enthusiast...

Titanium? No thanks
