it is a very nice watch, but I just think that Nautilus aftermarket prices are insane

Are people paying this thinking that they';re going to go up further?   Or someone really wants the watch that badly or has money to waste.   Meantime there are dozens on the retail market (though many may not actually have in hand.).   Maybe 5990's will be 125, 150, 200?   Seems a little crazy to me but who knows.

That being said...my 5590 came into to one of my AD's recently and delivered to me but at MSRP.   I did have one AD, that I had purchased numerous pieces from, pull that once on a hard to get piece in the past.   Needless to say, I will buy from them again only out of necessity.  I guess you can't blame them for being jealous of the flippers, but if (when) things slow down a bit my guess is that AD's like that will be remembered by people that they tried to gouge.   I know I will.   If given a choice, they would be my last choice.

Order it from someone that you've done business with and that will confirm that your price will be MSRP (at the time of sale pending increases) and just have patience.

Question on the 5990

Not aure if anyone can help. My disiti has just received a 5990 but is refusing to sell below $95K. Does this orice make sense?

It's a really nice watch.

Whether a price is reasonable or not is a very subjective thing.

Unless you’re desperate to have it today...

It is better to get it in msrp - put yourself in the list with boutique & you’ll surely get it - little wait can get you another good watch too !!

It looks like

there is one in stock at the Patek AD in Bath (UK). Ask them if they still have it.

If the seller is an authorized Patek dealer . . .

I would never do business there again. His approach is totally short-sighted. The market won't always be this hot. Stories like this make me believe the bubble is soon to burst. M4

and....not sure if I am supposed to post this so moderator delete...(at least the $$$ part)

but the AD is already making 25k plus for and in and out on a 5990. I think that the frustration with some AD's marking up comes from the fact that so many buyers are flipping them (otherwise where would all of these hard to get pieces come to market - in...

I'm not sure I understand you here -- a Patek AD sold or tried to sell you a 5990 at $21-22k above retail (that is, at about $75k)?

If this is what happened, this practice would be totally unacceptable and in my opinion should be reported instantaneously. Any AD selling a 5990 in the US for more than $53,300 (or anywhere else for more the MSRP of that country) should very, very quickl...

Sorry... multiple posts make it confusing

I meant to say that at 53,300 us msrp the dealer already makes over 30k on the watch so charging over retail to a regular customer would seem excessive. It’s capitalism and more power to them, but I think that in the long run ADs that practice will be hur...

Last one...

As I said above, I did have an AD that I had purchased from regularly try to charge me a similar mark up as the beginning post here in this thread on a hard to get PC. 40k over retail. Said keep it and went elsewhere and waited again.

Makes over 20k [nt]
