I would not have a problem having the issue solved at the AD if a REALLY skilled and well trained watchmaker would take care of it. But the problem is that the AD will not get any necessary parts for the repair.

So there is only one solution: let it be send for a service at PP. 6 months will go by quickly and you can look forward getting your wonderful watch back.

5270G Issue - Help Requested
By: @Patek_Ambassador : May 4th, 2020-12:24
The month on my Patek Philippe 5270G-001 I purchased last month from a large Patek AD (who also sells preowned, one of the largest in the world ) on April 3rd will not change over. The issue didn’t become apparent to me until May 1st, which was the first ...

... needs a service at Patek. They will fix everything. The downside is the wait (3-4 months). I would have a word with the seller - although they did not realize about the problem most likely. Just bad timing :-(
I would not do it
By: lascases : May 5th, 2020-00:15
and rather have it sent to Patek. Chrono QP can only be done in very few places without making a compromise.
Govberg...What the hell, they're a Patek AD
By: MikiJ : May 4th, 2020-12:37
Call their Customer Service dept. and ask for Israel. I've spoke with him often and he fits the definition of "Customer Service". I would like to think they will take cafe of everything , including shipping, to make your Patek function as it should. BTW: ...
I don’t think you are hurting them at all ..
By: janef : May 4th, 2020-13:18
In fact this is not ever their fault.. it is just a mechanical problem that will happen sometime to any mechanical watch. A quick services at PP services centre will fix it no problem. IMHO I would send the watch back to PP services centre/factory for a p...

I think they are a good place. I bought a watch there too brand new.
ADs

are not authorized for Chrono QP.
Unfortunate
By: TeutonicCarFan : May 4th, 2020-14:26
this a symptom of someone adjusting the pushers during the "danger zone"?
For sure...
By: TeutonicCarFan : May 4th, 2020-14:59
not saying you did but perhaps PO or while being admired for purchase by someone. I was more or less wondering if this is the symptom that would be seen ?
Not necessarily
By: lascases : May 5th, 2020-00:17
can also happen without making any faulty adjustments. Had the same problem recently.
I’ve had great dealings at Govberg
By: Ravenart : May 4th, 2020-15:11
However I’m sure it could just be a minor mishap on their end, I wouldn’t trust my watch with watchmakers outside of Patek. With Covid-19 I’m sure the service department is short handed, so the turn around time maybe longer then expected. Hopefully this w...
Definitely send to PP
By: Patekfinity : May 4th, 2020-16:52
Just wanted to chime in. Definitely send to PP, don’t have anyone else open that watch. If something happens, you may end up with a frankenwatch with parts from other references or worse polished parts that are not PP certified. I’m sure you paid a pretty...
The only PP authorized service in the US is Henri Stern and Sons NY, NY
By: MikiJ : May 5th, 2020-04:23
The AD that you recently sold you your watch should bear the full responsibility for having your timepiece either repaired or replaced. If you bought your watch NIB then I would insist on a replacement other wise the AD needs to send it to Stern. Maybe ev...

The Henri Stern Watch Agency. The offspring never made it to the billboard.
How old is this watch? Has it ever had serviced?
By: watch-er : May 4th, 2020-18:02
These are what 10 years old at this point. The early ones are dried up and are in need of an overhaul. Unless you bought with paperwork showing a full PP overhaul, in the past few years, it is a fact of life. Service it and move on is all you can do, unle...

It was recently bought, new or used, from a Patek AD and you would think that it came with a minimum 90 day warranty - Yes?
Service
By: JF2112 : May 4th, 2020-19:13
Definitely needs serviced. The wheel and mechanism are out of alignment and are not cycling through correctly. Depending on where you are located I am happy to take it in from you and send it back to Patek. But I see you bought it from Govberg so if you a...
Would not trust their watchmaker
By: galt : May 5th, 2020-07:37
I don't think it is good practice at all to use their in house watchmaker for a grande complication piece. Even if the watch comes back "working" you will have no idea on what damage will have been done where you can't see. These are super finely finished...
I disagree with the consensus...
By: SteveH : May 5th, 2020-09:12
It's totally reasonable for them to offer that their watchmaker fix it, and I personally would have no problem with this solution. If you insist on Patek servicing an out-of-warranty watch, that is on you. I think over-reliance on Swiss OEM factories to s...
