I would go for the 5170P
If the 5170P is calling you, I’d go for it. They are radically different watches but since the value of 5712 has gone up I would take advantage of it. I’m a sucker for a manual Chrono so I am biased of course but I think the 5170P with the blue dial can be dressed up or down. Very versatile. Good luck!

You have a better chance getting a 5070G even. Remember what you want for your watch is not always what the dealer will pay.

IMO you should pull the trigger if you like the 5170P as much or more than the 5712. To me, putting aside the popularity of the 5712, the 5170P is at a different level due to it’s chrono function, platinum case, and the subtle baguette diamond hour marker...
