I think the Professor has summed it up very nicely, with World Timers, it’s their artistic beauty, historical significant, rarity and practicality (in my mind in that descending order)

Incredibly fortunate to just have picked this up. Absolutely stunning piece and couldn’t do it without the help of my SA. Already fiending for the next piece but this one isn’t leaving my wrist. ...

So nice

The asymmetric dial is groooooowing on me. Would love to acquire this piece. Congratulations 👍

Thanks!

Yea the dial is amazing and given how many other dials look similar to each other, I can really appreciate the uniqueness.

It’s an amazing piece of work…

Really eyeing a Rose or Yellow gold piece. The 5712/1a is a great daily, but would love to complement it with a weekend piece as well… Any recommendations?

I see you already have a white metal, time-only Calatrava, but I'm not aware of your other pieces...Perhaps a J or R gold complication might be a natural choice next, but are there any complications you are particularly into (which you don't own yet)?

Given this 5712 allocation, chances are you can be granted access to a broad range of pieces by your AD or Patek, which might make things even more interesting for you going forward! Not knowing much about your collection except that you wouldn't mind J g...

Need to learn more about patek WT

I observe that there are many WT enthusiasts on this forum. I for one have not seen the the 5231J in person. Would love to know what makes WT references special to their owners.

Some can argue it's their sheer beauty, others their historical relevance for the brand....I try to look at both of these factors when I buy a Patek, and you can definitely find them front and center in their WT production! ;-)

The 5231 version vs. the 5230 (and similarly, in the recent past, for the 5131 vs. 5130) has the extra perk of being a "Rare Handcraft" (portion of its dial is in enamel), which is the genre of watches that I love the most, as a combination of art and hor...

Pleasure👍😉

Have you seen the 5131s,

predecessors to 5231 ? Patek rekindled the enamel WTs in 2008 with the release of 5131J. ...

Never even thought about the 5231j

But it’s growing on me a lot. Decent entry point for a rare handcraft too!

Very happy for you. Enjoy.

The dial design is unusual but interesting! What do you like about this reference?

Unique dial!

I really appreciate that it’s different from a lot of other timepieces across all brands. Also the microrotor movement is a beauty. Powering a decent amount of complications with such a small rotor.

Completely agree!

I had it. Gave it to my oldest son. He won’t give it back. Lol .

Big congratulations!
