IMHO an underappreciated watch. Unique for Patek in terms of movement, hacking as well as layout.

Hope you walked out with this piece

Great piece but...

Can't get over the cut-outs for the AC module. Also it is getting a bit too much on the thickness side knowing other watches for Patek Philippe.

The Day and Month discs are asymmetrical.

A quick visit to that reference's website will show the movement. Month disc has 12 three-letter abbreviations. Day disc has 7 three-letter abbreviations. Discs are different diameters with asymmetrical pivot points. I understand your perspective. The day...

When I saw the picture and the sleeve I thought it was a shot from our dear mod foversta.

When you see the little blue shirt poking through. follow this link and you will see what I mean. foversta pictures. Back to the was I love the dial layout. I wish you good luck in your future choice. Bill

Did they give you the standard

The staff at the London Salon are among the best

the watch is lovely as long as you feel the 40.5mm size fits your wrist well and the lugs do not hang. Unfortunately they do on my wrist.

I tried this one on too. I have to say looks a good deal better in the metal!

 By: westrop : December 4th, 2018-09:01
The lugs don’t hang over my wrist but I still think 40.5mm is a bit big... I’ve said that but I’m wearing a 40mm Aquanaut!!! ...

That’s so true..

 By: Cpt Scarlet : December 4th, 2018-09:23
It’s a different proposition on the wrist

The lugs on the Aquanuat curve more!

 By: sham1 : December 4th, 2018-19:28
I tried on a 40.8mm 5164A and it fits me better than the 40.5mm 5235G or even the 39.4mm 5170. It is all about the lugs at the end of the day!

yes.....absolutely

 By: Baron - Mr Red : December 5th, 2018-02:51
The Aquanaut wears much smaller because the lugs curve to help that process

Definitely a special PP. One of my favorites.

 By: Pretty Boy : December 4th, 2018-09:35
Although PP presumably don’t produce a lot of 5235Gs, demand appears to be even lower judging by after market sales and prices. It’s definitely not a very popular model. Best, Volker ...

Beautiful watch. Love it.

Probably the first Patek I would buy. Vte

The AC

 By: watch-er : December 4th, 2018-12:58
really detracts from the rare Regulator design which in my view should be the only complication and focus. Plus, the AC is hard to read on this model. Some things are best left simple and this was clearly one of them.

One of my favorite Pateks

Very under appreciated in my opinion. I own one and thoroughly enjoy it every time I wear it.

I must have tried the same one at the same salon a month ago

 By: Poky : December 4th, 2018-13:39
Unless they got another one in again. For sure opinions are divided on this piece and you can also find a few design faults but it is still a very attractive watch to me. I just can't make a final decision on it. If it was a regulator with no dates, I wou...

The uneven sizes of the AC apertures don't bother me at all.

If I see the watch in real the most remarkable feature of the 5235 is the dial. One cannot see the beauty of this special dial on a photo. One MUST see that in real. No other watch I know of any brand has got such a unique and beautiful dial finish like t...

Beautiful dial

 By: 11111 : December 6th, 2018-08:46
I got mine recently and I still have not taken it off my wrist. The asymmetry not just of the day and month window size, but also of the position of the hours and seconds hand spheres in relation to the dominant minutes hand pivot, does not bother me at a...

Growing on me!

Went to the Paris salon to try it again - forgot how small it was due to sharp lugs, fits my small/medium wrist very well. Great craftsmanship and really unique dial. I will not recommend this for someone's first PP - get one of the sport watches first (h...
