The 5109 is completely new PP territory for me as I really didnāt like any of the models from the Gondolo collection that I had seen so far. Way to many Art Deco details, steps, levels and edges on the cases for me.
At a visit to Paris earlier this year I had bought a Cartier Tank Must which had opened a door to not round and Art Deco styled watches for me though. Seeing the very straight and simple case of the 5109 it immediately reminded me of the Tank and its unostentatious design.
After getting your much appreciated input on the reference Iāve visited my Patek AD who is offering pre-owned or vintage timepieces every once in a while. Trying the 5109 on my 20 cm wrist it immediately felt like a perfect watch for me. The slim case sits perfectly centered and very comfortableon my wrist. Its yellow gold case with the -010 dial with a dark champagne tone to it are making the overall design of the watch even more delightful for me. Not to mention the lovely Breguet numerals in black gold of which Iāve always been a great fan.
After all the 5109 has been an unexpected addition to my watch collection and I canāt be happier to now own such great watch š.
