Probably a really dumb decision financially but I love the 5726 and prefer the slightly thicker watch head

Nautilus craze
By: jonrus : November 3rd, 2018-13:47
Why is the nautilus craze mainly on the models 5711 A and 5712 A? The 5726 A and 5990 A don’t seem to be as popular. They are Nautilus models as well. Anyone please help me understand. Thank you.
My thoughts and curiosity as well but my best guess...

the blue dial...just look at the 40th anniversary and the 5740 and the discontinued 5980. If the 5726 and 5990 comes in blue, their fate will be different. That’s just my observation, no data to support, just like what you observed.... the 5726 has a more...
Hmmm...

Not sure I agree that the blue dial is the reason. The silver/ white dial is also hot. I’m curious too.
If you look at the item that we’re not supposed to discuss...

5726 is not much different from 5712, and not far from 5711, which imo is not very “fair”, considering the amount of work in the bracelets and AC movement, so is 5990 in relative term. I agree there aren’t probably any in stock or display, If one were to ...
Several reasons

-5711 and 5712 have the nice thin case as the original ,the others are not -blue dial as on the original the others are grey or/and white -11/12 has lower MSRP as the others -11 reminds the most for the original and the 12 bit exceeds it ,it has no second...
Thank you

However, the 5740G seems to have more attraction among collectors. I am just curious on this observation.
You ve right that one i ve skipped

but that one also fit into some my criterias sleek blue However the most expensive (to be fair made of PM and tge highest complication)
Just guessing

But maybe because of the dial color. Grey isn't so popular... That said, it's not like one can walk in to any PP AD and get a 5725 or 5990. Even relatively less popular, these two still have waiting list.
Thank you.

Perhaps this is why the 40th anniversary watches are blue dials

I would guess that the overwhelming factor is price
By: RussW : November 4th, 2018-02:47
Other factors such as dial colour, thinness etc also play a part, but to a much lesser degree. The pool of buyers for a £20k watch is much bigger than for a £40k watch so I’m not surprised the 5711 has higher demand than the 5990. I think the higher deman...
Thin for the win

5711 add 5712 are thin like original. 5726 is a great watch but the thickness makes it a totally different experience.
Yes I also had that in mind

Re the 5740, that’s my favourite of all the Nautilus. However I’m on the list for a 5711 but I’m not on the list for a 5740, and the only reason is price.
It’s the sport watch craze for simple complication...

The likes that you see on the AP Royal Oak, Rolex Sub, SD43, GMT. It’s popular due to social media and hence gets more attention and demand. Supply is tightly controlled IMO.
