Hygiene rules should be the norm

as well as common sense, bt they're  gone several years ago.

I have close friends in BKK and surprisingly, luckily or whatever the reason to be, you did not experience the casualties we have had in Europe.
Is it because of the warmth?
the daily showers?

I was glad and surprised by those low figures: some might wonder whether swabs are not carried out, or confinement has been succesful, before the lockdown tourists well still allowed to come and some scientist were worried about the incoming spread.
It didn't occur, at least so far.

A virus is an obligate intracellular parasite, some of those measures are absolutely preposterous, from washing legs to avoiding watches.

Mobile phones are definitely a magnet for germs more than a watch!

p.s. if you want to sanitize by UV rays, you'd use UV-C lamps only, which is harmful for human skin

Covid new norm

What are your takes on this? Apparently virus can stay on leather bands, so one needs to wash or alcohol rub or UV... so if your watches are non-waterproof? ...

UV is a common decontamination tool

However you need a decent amount of power and time. Decon using UV will need to take into account distance from the objects, power of the light, and duration of exposure. Medical grade air filters and many natural water collection filters use a mix of phy...

Some Perspective....

 By: Fastwong : May 15th, 2020-22:13
Everyone can choose to live how they like but this seems a little extreme, some points are a little excessive/quirky (leg washing? I guess when wearing shorts?) but not going out is crazy IMHO. I know this has been a stressful time, I'm locked down in NYC...

Probably Excessive

CBB, I think the first three are sufficient if coupled with good judgment about where to go, with whom to associate (at a distance), and what to touch. While suspected contamination could require removing and cleaning shoes, clothing, jewelry, and watches...

Hi CBB, Would echo what Park has said. Life really miserable without wearing a watch! If Iā€™m going to the hospital(an exposure prone area), SS watch easily washed/removed, shoes left outside home and change of clothes/shower ASAP. Otherwise, as before. Wi...

Not bad advice. The dirtiest things are your hands, keys, mobile phone, etc.

 By: patrick_y : May 16th, 2020-10:41
Things your hands touch are often the dirtiest things. So car door handles, mobile phones, keys, doorknobs, etc. all need to be cleaned frequently. I wrote a post (with help from two doctors) about what kind of watches to wear during the SARS-COV-19 epide...

Some of this is over the top IMHO. Wash hands frequently. Wear mask. Social distance. When outside, if you havenā€™t just washed your hands, try not to touch your face. That will get you pretty far. The viability of the virus on a watch strap is highly unli...
