Patek service - 10/10, would Patek again :-)

Well, that was fast... As you know last week I noticed my 5167A stopped running. Upon closer inspection the balance wheel was locked in place which meant the watch could not be wound. So today I went to the Paris Salon to get it fixed. I fully expected to...

Thank you! I expected nothing less of Patek

If it was more complicated I would have been understanding as well - arguing about a watch repair process is not really one of my priorities in life

Hopefully not šŸ¤£ [nt]

I expected the issue to be relatively minor, still happy I got the watch back immediately.

Took the bike afterwards!

Donā€™t know if you were the ā€˜Lebaneseā€™ but keep at it - I got 5712 as my first Patek after 18 months so things like this are possible!

No I wasn't there today. I'm just waiting for something which might never arrived

I'm on the wait list for a 5767A. I don't live in France " hegaxonal" so every now and then I send them an email and when I'm in Paris I pay a visit to the boutique. Someone introduce you to the boutique? Or you just walked in and asked?

If you are on the list itā€™s already 90% of work done

 By: CastorKrieg : August 18th, 2020-09:11
They wouldnā€™t have added you if they did not expect to let you have your watch within reasonable timeframe. Just keep at it, gently nudge them from time to time and visit the boutique when you are in Paris, you will get your watch for sure! Regarding your...

Will do it [nt]

I was there yesterday and saw the lady who is in charge of my case.

Iā€™m on the waiting list which is a good news. Iā€™ll have one.. when? She canā€™t reply, just keep my fingers crossed Thierry Stern doesnā€™t change the model.

Patek at its best!šŸ˜‰so much about Patek is enjoying pleasant experiences, even in the ā€œsimplestā€ of situations, so Iā€™m sincerely happy for you!šŸ‘

And since this happened at the Paris Salon, I can only confirm what you said with a short but meaningful story: once that my girlfriend went to Paris by herself, I asked her to drop by the Salon and just say hi for me (Note: they never saw HER before at t...

I got a small gift as well :-)

Very thoughtful, it will definitely see some use !

You cannot count on it but always believe an unexpected surprise is possible, also at Patek Philippe šŸ˜‰šŸ‘

Congrats on your Aquanaut, a watch that is growing in me more and more...

Congratulations!

What an excellent turn of events! I have never heard of a technician at a Salon (or any Patek Philippe AD) actually opening up a watch and working on it right there. Thatā€™s really wonderful. When I first read your story, I had assumed that they would send...

At least they would have kept it for a few weeks

 By: CastorKrieg : August 18th, 2020-10:38
I donā€™t mind them working on it right there, this means I get my watch faster! AFAIK the full service of my 5712 was also done on Paris, not Geneva, and that involved full disassembly and reassembly of the movement. I can imagine for Grand Complication it...

Congrats, Castor. It's amazing to have a 45min return time for the repair.

I also had a similar experience in the PP service center at Hong Kong. Brought my 5712 there few years ago for a small debris/ loosen part on the dial, the watchmaker there offered to fix it immediate. Cheers, Henry

Great to hear your positive ...
