Gordon, you are way too kind in assessing my collection, but I appreciate the sentiment. So does my 3448😊

It has been a very long time (too long) since I last wore this special and dare I say, beautiful watch. Today, it is back on my wrist where it belongs.

Patek 3448, an historically important reference, was the first self winding perpetual calendar watch produced by ANY brand. This particular example was made in the late 1970s shortly before being replaced by the 3450. Hope you enjoy the images. Thanks for...

Love it!

The dial and moonphase are enamel, right?

Just a stunning execution of a PC. Perhaps my favorite watch (or at least top 3).

Thank your for your kind appraisal. The dial is not enamel. Wish it were. I have seen only one enamel dial 3448 or 3450 (don’t remember which). Was at an auction viewing.

Don’t know if it was born that way or not. But the moonphase is a different matter. It is my understanding that 3448s came with enamel moonphase and mine certainly appears to be. Thanks for asking, led me to take a closer look.

Nice crisp lugs. Bravo!

Don’t ever let anyone “lightly polish” that case

Hi Patekova, thanks for showing us a historically significant reference !

Given your lovely collection, I can understand why your 3448 might not get enough wrist time. It does deserve more love though !

Gorgeous !! 🔥

I suppose you know my love for this reference, surely one of my favorite PP. I have waited twenty years before getting mine and I had to sacrifice several watches of my collection so as to fund its acquisition but I am so happy I did it. Yours is a late g...

Mike, thank you for your reply and for sharing images of your very special and beautiful watch. I feel that the early version like yours is in different category than my late version.

A good friend once compared the early version like yours to a Paul Newman and the late version (sapphire crystal, Sigma dial) to a standard Daytona. Certainly for me, yours has a more true vintage look and appeal. If I had to choose and the condition of b...

One of the most elegant and beautiful wristwatches ever made. Just perfection.
