5172G no doubt about it

IMHO The Chrono ticks so many boxes. I have seen the other and I find its dial is quite washed out when I first saw it I thought it would be great but left me uninspired. I think it is not very popular either as I have seen it in several dealers windows… ...

:nt.

Interesting….I just noticed the case design with step lugs are the same…

Take both and next Nautilus will come to pay for one of them for itself, congrats in advance 😅😜 Jokes aside, if it’s me, I go by function that I don’t have, eg Perpetual calendar, but I will need to compare it with other models. If I need a mechanical Chr...

Another vote for the 5172

While the 5320 is a great watch, it isn’t my favorite Patek QP, so I personally would pick the 5172.

5172 for the movement alone. A nice, casual PP that flies under the radar.

The perpetual is nice too, and probably a great daily Patek that can dress up or down; but the pull of the 5172 movement is too strong for me. What a nice choice to have. Cheers, John

3 of the same thing doesn't suit your style. You are more of an ungaro style mix of 3

;-))

Two very different pieces. Both special. But I would go for the 5320.

Various positive factors, but the one I personally like best is that the 5320 is a rare Patek perpetual with a seconds hand. Also I prefer the more refined pushers of the 5070 and 5170 rather than the less sophisticated pushers of the 5172.

As Raymond pointed out, the design of this two reference is very similar (watch case/ lugs/ hands/ index).

The differences are dial colour (matted blue vs ivory lacquer), hand winding chronograph vs automatic perpetual calendar. Generally speaking, being a hand winding caliber, 5172 should be a line higher than the 5320 with automatic caliber inside. But I thi...

So, they offered you these two....

But which one did you really want? A Nautilus, Aquanaut? You should pick the one you like and want to wear, and then, proudly, pass it on to the next generation (...) If you only 'want one' for a quick profit, go on, join the pack - oh, cynical me...

Manual vs auto, chrono vs perpetual, blue vs cream... difficult to compare... 😅

I would go for the 5172, but simply due to my current collection, it would fit much better. But would go for the 5320 instead if looking for a more versatile and practical piece. Enjoy the process and keep is posted!

5172 hands down

 By: agyzace : June 20th, 2021-08:05

Both stunning but i would go for the Chrono i guess .

Can’t go wrong with both

For me, the 5320 because

the PC function is so magically and “timeless” ! Furthermore, the dial is so balanced. The dial of 5172 is less balanced to me, but the overall color scheme is great. At the end, between these two, it depends on which complication you want in your collect...

Since I have been in almost the same situation I went with the 5172G, from a complication perspective they are Apple and Oranges yet from the look I would definitely go with the 5172.

5172 if it was me.

5172 for my taste

Get a 5270 😉

 By: JTCL : June 21st, 2021-01:13

I would take the 5172G

Cooler and more versatile. Both are nice, though… R.
