(Irish) Green dial with green strap. A very eye-catching piece but too green for my taste. Perhaps I am just too conservative? Thoughts ? ...

conservative PuristS also !!

It's the original Irish Patek AD, Weir & Sons.

 By: Jay (Eire) : April 13th, 2019-10:07
All spoken for, three have been delivered so far I was told. I'm a little disappointed that they didn't require Irish residency or an Irish Passport for these. (I'm biased in saying that obviously).

Indeed indeed.

Apparently dial colour wasn’t just right, so Mr Stern had them redone so he was happy before Weirs could get them... All the best, Niall

Yes Irish AD, hence the ...

shamrock green !

a bit flashy...green matt dial would have been better ?!

 By: mahesh : April 13th, 2019-10:18
but i highly doubt people will think twice about it, given that it is LE. Best, mahesh.,

Thanks Gordon, I noticed it too today, it's indeed a rather bold choice for Patek in terms of dial color, but I wouldn't mind it anyway... :-))

 By: FabR : April 13th, 2019-10:22
Obviously there's virtually no chance though if one is not a top client of this specific AD... Here's a different angle of the dial, the green is much more sober and beautiful in this picture. Cheers. ...

One more photo for your pleasure

I quite like the colour. Reminds me of home ...

Ahhh I would be very tempted indeed!

Thanks Fab, unfortunately I missed the launch event as was traveling, but will see what happens over the coming weeks, though I have not had the courage to ask whether they’ve already all been spoken for out of fear of the answer (either way!). Another ph...

Yes, I agree Nico.

When I heard it was coming up I played around with images online to see what the possibilities could be, and a slightly darker and more matte shade attracted me. However, one would need to see it in the flesh, or rather, platinum, to really know... All th...

No problem at all.

Credit for the photos to Weirs&Sons. I do think it looks very nice indeed. Haven’t yet had the pleasure to have it on the wrist...but I’m always hopeful All the best, Niall

...unusual !!

I actually like it

 By: Poky : April 13th, 2019-13:03
It will be nice to wear it now and then. Not sure what is going on with the day aperture though.

You might be too conservative...

 By: Mike H : April 13th, 2019-13:22
...but I am most probably even more than you are. I like 5905 a lot with other dial combination (they have a gorgeous blue one) but this green one has a no go for me also sorry. To be honest I am surprised that PP does that...

Guess it had to be green because the AD is...

 By: GLau : April 13th, 2019-14:26
from Ireland. Whether such a bright green is needed or not must have been a mutual decision between AD and Patek.

To greeny

 By: dav : April 14th, 2019-15:02
It is a pitty because Patek doesn’t make a lot of spécial anniversary pieces... this one is really to much green

As I mentioned earlier, this LE is for an Irish AD and hence Irish shamrock...

 By: GLau : April 14th, 2019-15:12
green ! Is this green supposed to be so bright ?

Green seems to be very similar to the Mecca WT

 By: NoH : April 19th, 2019-04:33
But would need to see it on the wrist to confirm - ideally seeing both on the wrist at the same time All the best, Niall

L O V E it!!! [nt]

Must be for their 150th anniversary....well scarcity

 By: Patekphilippecollector : April 19th, 2019-05:38
No guarantee it will hold its price. The 5130 Dubai edition didnt even sell at a recent auction

I am not convinced either.

colors can sometimes be difficult to judge on the internet but I am not in love with this. ...Perhaps if they had made it in enamel, picturing a jungle with animals- then I know I would have really loved it.

Yes my friend

 By: ChristianDK : April 20th, 2019-07:31
Thats the one which makes me green with envy. Btw. Was in Paris two days ago and saw an other Rosseau painting. One of my favorite painters Hope you’re well my friend

Let me bump this up for a very curious piece of news that I read today, as I remembered that quite a few people last year were interested in Weir&Sons' beautiful 5905P green edition...

Interestingly, here's a recent article from Watchpro on one of the 25 lucky owners...no less than Irish boxing champion, and big watch collector, Conor McGregor! Despite it took apparently over a year for the delivery of this piece, from the way the arti...

Green is the new black? In all seriousness, would have to see it IRL to make a valid assessment...

 By: holdemchamp1225 : June 4th, 2020-15:03
one thing I can say is the LOVE the new green fumé dial of the MB&F collaboration with Moser 🤷‍♂️

Never had a chance to see it in the metal, but it's obviously some sort of Irish green, not an usual Patek choice. I think Niall's (NoH) picture above makes it look much nicer than it initially seemed..

 By: FabR : June 4th, 2020-16:18
Hopefully one of our two Irish friends who showed interest last year (Jay and Niall) were able to seize one, but I can imagine how steep the competition was with only 25 pieces available. Otherwise, I want Mr. McGregor to join our forum! Cheers.
