5524G wrist game or crying shame?

Borrowing the tag line of one of the watch blogs, wanted to get your opinion on the PP pilot as I have an opportunity to acquire one in a trade.
There was a lot of heated debate when this first came out - and yes, I have read through the archives. What is the current view and have sentiments evolved since then?
How will history view this timepiece from a collectors perspective a few years down the road?
Thanks

I don't know about the rest of the world, but MY sentiments about it have evolved.

"Crying shame" was definitely my initial response. I thought it was pretty much total garbage, the sort of watch people were going to look at 30 years down the line and say, "What was Patek thinking???" I've evolved on it, though. Put away that disgust. N...

good on the wrist. For me, the G is more subtle than the R. Good luck with your decision.

I like it a lot

I think this is a very unique PP - modern size - great complication and like nothing else. Still impossible to find at AD I think it’s a winner!

I actually like it a bit more then a couple of years ago. However, i think it is naturally not as nicely finished as a modern Patek otherwise would be.

Pateks case design and finish is usually above, say, JLCs, however, on this one, being a sporty piece, it is just as good. I would have liked it if Patek would have taken a more sophisticated aproach to that casual model as well.

I was in the line to board at airport

Saw a Gentlement wearing a watch that took my attention, could not unterstand immediately what he was weraing, too far, he came closer ant I understood, this watch is amazing! Buy it!

Personally, it's a "modern classic"....

I think we will see more iterations of this case (like the current 5520P), due to the size being attractive to clients who have been wearing ROOs. While I am a huge fan of rose gold, in general, the white gold is the way to go, in this case. I could see P...
