I also always see the out of place 3, pushed there by the date. A no date version would have looked perfect and had that been the case I would already have one. I do still look and question if I could live with that unbalance and so far no!
I always had a soft spot for the Aquanaut, more than for the Nautilus, by the way. The 5060 and the 5066, and the 5065. I don't care about the see through case back, so for me, it would be between the 5060 and the 5065. So the question is why I didn't get...
I owned a 5065 in 2003-2005 and it is a big regret having sold it (also financially...) The only thing I was not a big fan of was the big boxy clasp. The rest was perfect. If you find a good one, jump on it. Gold is even more leftfield - to be experienced...

I had not paid much attention to the 3 but now it is a little hard to unsee it. They are beautiful nonetheless. I had considered the older Aquanaut but not have a chance to try them on I wondered about the smaller size feeling more comfortable with 40-42m...
I appreciate your love for the piece. Personally, after wearing the JLC Navy Seals ChronoGMT at 46.3 for 11 years, I would wait for the 5168A (whenever that will appear). regarding the Gran' Sport, the chrono is a killer complication, but the Gran' Sport ...
Cool one I had a 5065 and the grenade dial makes up for that 3 issue you mentioned! I’m looking for a 5060 now. I like the solid back and being the first one also says nautilus on the clasp kind of cool. Patek at least in US still sells all colors of rubb...
I agree with you on the non-centred 3 and warmth of the tritium. Symmetry is why I love the 5164, although not an earlier model and perhaps rather ‘clinical’ ...
