Just noticing that Nautilus variants are dropping to very close to list... or the equivalent of list plus tax... Or slightly lower... Time only Nautilus was always obtainable at these prices or better... but I'm kind of happy to see the prices dropping...... 

He did mention that "on difficult times, we may have to cut production". I suspect that if the market forces lead to a decrease in demand, this might be the result, as stated years ago. I think that Mr Stern had this in mind when he was interviewed.

that the price of some certain hot items has come down. Moreover, there are more hot items from AD direct to collectors too. In HK, we can still hardly reach 5980, 5712, 5960 from AD, but the price from grey dealers is getting closer to list. I hope that ... 

there is a HUGE difference between a Nautlilus (5711, 5712 , 5780) , 5167 Aquanaut, 5960 and pieces like the 5970, 3970 The first category are nice watches but not that rare. Everybody knew the first pieces would be sold wit a premium, but when more piece...

the grey dealer price isnt important to me....i bought my 5980 from my local AD offcourse at list i beilve in jan. so i have worn it for a while and traveld with it 3 times and wore it for THREE weeks stright i didnt take a second watch wearing watches is... 

What are you talking about???!! Just kidding. Of course you are right! It's just, with Patek, money is the first issue. Stern always reinforces this, 'subliminally' in interviews--talking about auction prices all the time, etc. And in this months magazine...

As I've mentioned before, the Pateks based upon the newer in-house chrono movement were destined to come down in price, since the new in-house movement was made for a larger production. The only reasons prices were high at first was lack of availability, ... 

I too agree 100% that the Lemania pieces are a different story altogether. Valid point made and articulated very well...

if you find prices high now (5970.5004,3970,5070), wait 5 years, today's prices will seem like a bargain. Here's why; There are still a couple of last remaining Lemania models, their life span is very, very short, when they finally are no longer available... 

I am noticing that the prices in 5970 (Lemania), 5101 and 5102G are going down in price in the gray market. I do not know what you are basing your suspicions on. If it goes down in that market, the ADs will also lower prices over time. All kinds of people... 

I'm not much for predictions, but don't go believing that the Lemanias are invincible. These are unusual and historic times... Think of how much is vulnerable at this time... it makes the Lemania seem rather terribly vulnerable today... but who really kno...
