Fake Patek astronomical spotted in the wild...

 By: @Patek_Ambassador : March 27th, 2020-05:30
So I was at a cigar lounge today and a guy here noticed my Patek 5130R world time, which is rare since no one ever recognizes it. Then he rolled up his sleeve and presented me what appeared to be something like a sky moon Tourbillon/astronomical Patek. Im...

Well done on two counts!

Firstly for spotting that the watch was a fake and secondly for being so discreet and diplomatic with its owner. If I was wearing a fake Patek, I would feel most apprehensive at showing the watch to someone wearing a Patek for fear that my secret would be...

Excellent story.

Do you think the man knew it was fake? Maybe he was duped into purchasing it at a real discount. You never know these days.

I would be absolutely horrified

if the man was duped into purchasing a million euro watch because anyone keen on such a timepiece would be familiar with the ordering process and the fact that the watch would not be subject to a discount. I believe to buy such a timepiece one would have ...

fake

The guy do not know watch complications we know, so fake watch owners are less interested in watches. Status and a famous names are for them more worth, than the love for techniques. If a fake watch owner simply is a victim of a criminal, this is another ...

Well said.

I agree. Non watch people look for the name and aspire to that. They don’t care much of the history of the brand and it’s artistic value.

He is posting somewhere on another site about how real his watch is that it fooled a Patek owner. A travesty! Doubt very much that someone who could spend that much on a watch (if it has been real) wouldn't do basic due diligence. Hope I am wrong.

I feel so sad for people who buy counterfeit items..

Be it a handbag, a piece of clothing or a watch.. At the end of the day the quality of counterfeits mainly suck.. for a connoisseur they are easy to spot from a mile away .. Also these practices support illegal activities.. Now what I try to get my head a...

A patient of mine gifted me a fake blue aquanaut and told me to wear it instead of the real one incase I want to sell it as unworn... she is a watch dealer. This is how a dealer thinks Unfortunately.

I don’t think he knows...

He is in a cigar bar. He notices your 5130. Here’s what’s going through his mind: 1) this guy has a nice watch A) he has money but knows nothing about watches and is a poser. B) he knows a lot about watches. If he believes his watch is genuine: 2) we have...

Do you think he will send it in for a service.

I don't get it.

 By: sam1234 : March 28th, 2020-07:21
Please don't take this the wrong way, but it seems to me like you were just having fun at someone else's expense. You asked to try on what you 'immediately' noticed was fake, took photos of said fake, asked when he applied for said fake (for what purpose?...

Indeed! [nt]

What a cheap fake! No one he would buy thinking it’s authentic!

 By: Makilla : March 28th, 2020-08:00
These monkey stories don’t exist anymore! The owner is very well aware that it’s a fake but presuming that it’s not or isn’t aware of it.
