The Music-Themed Watches of Parmigiani

Although it seems Parmigiani has not involved itself in the celebrity ambassador game that is the purview of many watch brands, it was involved for at least a decade in the sponsorship of the Montreux Jazz Festival (to the best of my knowledge, Parmigiani is not currently sponsoring the festival). The sponsorship produced some Montreux-related watches from at least 2007 - 2017. Moreover, Parmigiani leveraged its music industry presence and produced several music-themed references that appear not to have been Montreux related. This post covers a sampling of Parmigiani's music-themed watches, many of which are spectacular and highly desirable.

Tonda Tourbillon - Union Jack and Stars & Stripes (c 2013)

I have to say I am in love with these watches. Even the tourbillon hole doesn't deter me here. The cherry on top is the 8-day manual movement. Did everyone catch the continuation of the guitar strings from the dial to the bezel? Nice detail!

Montreaux Jazz Festival Tribute Watches

Here, the tourbillon hole is cleverly incorporated into the jazz trumpeter's horn. Well done.

Parmigiani was the main sponsor of the Montreux Jazz Festival from 2007 to at least 2017 and produced several Montreux related pieces in its more accessible references such as the Metrographe and Kalpa lines. Several of these pieces are shown below.
